The Thatch in South Oxfordshire

Great Sunday lunch experience. Super friendly staff and great service. Outdoor seating was nice on a lovely day.

The Thatch is a very old pub and beautifully atmospheric. The food is not cheap but very competent - I especially enjoyed the meat pie, it was like no other I have had, thin crust and packed with unctious beef. Served with mash, cabbage and a velvety gravy it was fab (even though not made on the premises). Unfortunately I was just too full to order the steamed syrup pud, definitely next time. Service was easy and cheerful. A great find.

Picked this place for a business meeting in December '21 based on it's Google reviews. The service was exceptional and food was so good we went back in January '22 to meet with friends and the service and food were both wonderful once again.Possibly a new favourite!

Excellent food .you will not leave hungry

Four of us went for lunch. The service was excellent as was the menu which included a range of dishes which was able to accommodate one of our party who was vegan. My partner had the beef which was very tender. We enjoyed the selection of puddings. We will meet there again!

Had the Christmas meal ( beef not turkey ) and the food was great - nice presentation and enough of it. Service was very attentive and the place was near full and buzzing. Really good, would recommend .

Just passing and chosen at random but the restaurant provided a good meal with some interesting menu offers plus daily extras. Good wine selection. Staff were friendly and efficient.

Amazing service and Sunday roast! Anything we needed they were happy to help, including extra Yorkshire’s and greens. We will definitely be going back. If you’re looking for a nice roast, this won’t disappoint.

Last minute weekday freezing January evening, fancying an early Fish & Triple Cooked chip dinner with a smoked mackerel starter. All delicious & served promptly.

I really enjoyed my lunch here at the Thatch. Would definitely like to go again. Really friendly non intrusive service. Only give a 4 star because there was a wasp flying around the dining room and I hoped someone would come out with some spray to kill it but it was left to fly around :(
