This is a lovely independent cafe, really nice friendly staff. Their cakes are homemade and all look fantastic, it was difficult to decide what to choose. The shortbread, pecan pie and millionaires shortbread all tasted absolutely delicious. Good value for money. Would definitely recommend.

·

Lovely staff but full English breakfast had cold eggs and plates, undercooked halloumi for the Veggie breakfast, burnt toast (albeit replaced with better toast)and weak coffee.

·

Best veggie breakfast, fast & friendly service. Chilled atmosphere & if I had time I would of had cake too…they looked epic.

The website about ‘The Chocolate Cafe’ made it sound very smart and very different and exciting. One of the ladies in charge was charming and pleasant, the other a little dour, but neither was wearing a mask, which, in a food shop in an area swarming with Covid (we were wearing ours out of courtesy to people in shops and elsewhere), was, we felt, unacceptable; the result was that our cakes were, inevitably, breathed on and we had my 96 year old mother with us. The drinks were good, but our ‘rocky road’ had been made with less than inspiring chocolate, so a little disappointing. We sat outside (under the Arcade it’s nice and sheltered) and the table had been cursorily wiped, but was crumby and looked grubby: we asked for a clean up, which was given willingly enough. The whole place, however looked a little shabby and could do with a face lift (see below!)The cakes looked wonderful and there is so much potential at this cafe for a really splendid experience - a little more attention to hygienic detail and some really smart decor would be reassuring.

Wow this cafe is fabulous! The staff are so kind and helpful. We had filled rolls to take away in lovely containers with salad on the side. So delicious. Cakes were fab too. Definitely recommend. Thank you for such an excellent take away lunch

I have been going to this cafe since it opened, I live in village over the river - Streatley. They are wonderfully hospitable and lovely people, and the food is fantastic and very reasonable. I look forward to the day I can sit inside again! Very spacious plenty of tables. I don’t know many cafes with such superb customer service.

Got to Goring 20 mins before closing time. Really friendly and accommodating when the card machine went down. Thanks for fueling us up to cycle home. Would highly recommend as coffee and cakes high quality and full of flavour. We will be back 🙂

Very friendly cafe. Delicious food - try the apple crumble cake - and excellent coffee. Lots of room upstairs as well as some seating outside. (Picture of apple crumble cake attached).
