The Village Plaice in South Oxfordshire

A lovely small village the fish was cooked as you ordered tasted good but the batter could have been a little lighter but that's my own opinion

This is the best fish that I have had from a fish and chip shop, even from my local which is down here in Somerset. Used to live locally but moved, would happily move back just for the fish, batter was so light unbelievable. Looking forward to visiting again.

Great local fish and chips.. but they let me down and forgot to add the curry sauce I'd paid for, also didn't ask if I'd like salt and vinegar.

Fantastic service always from Village Plaice especially from Elvio (sorry if spelt incorrectly) food has always been great aswell as friendly and respectful service. We are in temp accommodation and still amazing service.

Had a few deliveries from here through UberEats. Have found it quite good.. tasty and generous portions. Tonight the chips were missing on delivery, which is inconvenient! But they did bring some out. Also, there’s burgers in the menu but not on Uber… really need to add them in!!

Fish & chips are ok but tried them twice recently & both times the chips weren’t great; a lot of dry little bits. My daughter had a milkshake & there were several plastic bits in it where some of the Kinder Bueno packet obviously got blended too...could be very dangerous if a young child had that!

I’m so very grateful for Elvio making my 40th birthday very special. He kindly delivered fish and chips for everybody which were perfect and nice and warm! Would thoroughly recommend. Thank you so much again.

Had fish and chips last night for a family of 5. Chips served were from 'lunch time', dry. Fish seemed the same. Normally the fish is always good, not last night. The chips Always seem to be a bit 'ropey' though. Such a shame as we all love fish and chips and would be here every day is the quality was consistent, it's not!

This was the first time we have used this chip shop, the food was cooked perfectly to order and tasted good. We will be using The Village Plaice again a lot. The staff were polite and helpful.
