Rooms very dated, entrance is lovely and modern however rooms aren't.Beds are uncomfortable, I think the mattress must be about 20 years old. Rock solid on the outside and dipped severely in the middle. We arrived to find news there was a wedding disco till 1am right outside our room so needless to say we didn't get much sleep. It would have been nice to have been told about this before we arrived. No other rooms available to move to however when you look at the layout none of them are far from the wedding venue.Facilities in the room, kettle, hairdryer and iron are all decent. Shower was very poor, although warm it wasn't much more than a trickle. Only shampoo and soap was provided.Restaurant was overpriced for bland food and the bar area was over run with rowdy wedding guests when we wanted to enjoy a nice quiet night away.

The hotel itself is a lovely picturesque Manor hotel surrounded by woodland. It is slightly run down and in need of repair. The grounds of the hotel are beautiful and lovely to explore. We booked a room using my best western points and it definitely felt like we were treated as second rate guests. The staff were less than helpful when contacted regarding issues with the room. Our daughter slept in a cot which bedding was not provided for and when we asked for a blanket for her, waited 45 minutes and nothing arrived. We called them to chase this up and were told there were none available in the hotel. The next day we headed over to the swimming pool with our daughters and were told they were unable to swim as children are not allowed in as it was not a weekend day from 3-5pm. There was no information regarding the leisure facilities/ restaurant/ facilities in the hotel room either. We felt like we were just dumped in a room and left to our own devices.

Lovely hotel with the use of the spa. Dinner last night was good although some errors could have been avoided. Like no bread rolls available we had some small kind of roll which had been defrosted in microwave so gone hard to eat. Breakfast could have been better as most of the hot food was cold only the baked beans were hot. A little disappointed as the hotel and staff were very good. Special thanks to head waitress for her lovely attitude all round a good experience.

Such a fantastic experience and an amazing hotel from driveway to receptionist to the rooms to breakfast.Faultless. I would like to say the male receptionist was a breeze to deal with from start to finish. And if I may say value for money too. We all loved it. The rooms are immaculate

My husband and I went for an afternoon tea - it was our first time at this hotel and the area. The place is really nice and quiet. The interiors are quite interesting and it’s a good place to catch up with friends or more intimate as well. The staff was friendly and the tea was reasonably good - scones could be warmer and there could be individual pots of cream and jam. Overall experience was good! Wish the spa treatments were open - that would have been great!

My wife and I have just returned from a 2 nights stay at Chilton Manor and felt that we had to write and say how pleasant an experience that was.. The hotel itself is beautiful and, while providing all the modern amenities, it has managed to retain the character and essence of the 1920's /30's. We would like to specially mention the very high quality of the food. So often this area lets down many 5 star hotels. We ate in the pretty restaurant on both nights. The room was perfectly adequate and the view of the lovely parkland was idyllic. Service was excellent and we, were particularly, impressed by the standard of cleanliness throughout. We note that the rating is 3 star but we have stayed in 5 star hotels which did come come up to this standard. Our congratulations to the manager and all the staff on all their efforts to make this a memorable experience for us.We shall, certainly, stay there again and will, also, be happy to recommend Chilton Manor to our friends. Well done!

Stayed an enjoyable two nights at this lovely old Manor to visit Christmas markets nearby.A really nice breakfast included in the price too.A very good sized bedroom, and all clean & tidy too.Would definitely recommend.UPDATE.We just got back from Spain on the ferry and decided to have a night before heading home. Everything just as good as before with an even bigger room. Breakfast included again. Only complaint really is the coffee is really really strong. Happy to go again.

My wife and I have just spent 5 nights at this hotel while we were having building work done on our house. We had only booked 4 nights but the building work over ran so had to stay another night. Melissa on reception was very helpful in sorting out the room for our extended stay. I must also mention Jodie of the reservations team who was also very helpful when we made the initial booking. We have found all the staff to be friendly and helpful. Breakfasts were very good and the evening meals were of a very high standard. We stayed in a deluxe double which was comfortable and clean although i found the bed to be a bit too firm for my liking. Overall an excellent stay.

Make sure you ask for a room nowhere near the events area if you are staying overnight and there is an event on e.g. wedding. The music is on until midnight as you would expect but the rooms that overlook the conference area have that music coursing in loudly enough that you can hear every word and get up and have a dance around your bedroom since there is no possibility of sleeping until it finishes! My experience of the restaurant wasn't great (starter and main at dinner time were poor) but my mum chose different dishes and really enjoyed them (she also had a quiet room at the front of the hotel and slept really well!)The pool and the gym are nice facilities, the building is lovely and the grounds are gorgeous. Wouldn't come back though just because of the lack of sleep!

The Hotel is nice and kept clean, the breakfast is also very good. The rooms are a decent size but could be better by removing part of the massive corner desk. Unfortunately the hotel is not very family oriented as the swimming pool can only be used by under 18's on the weekend and Bank Holidays between 15.00 and 17.30. They are also not allowed to be in the hot tub for some strange reason.
