Blue Island in Southampton

My partner walks past Blue Island on his way to work and for many years wanted to dine in but never had the opportunity to. This was until he and I decided to try this restaurant out of curiosity. And were we glad we did.The moment we walked in, it was like we were transported to someone's homely dining room in Santorini as the white and blue colour motif was reminiscent of the island. The main chef, who's behind the kitchen opening greeted us at the door. Staff overall were very friendly and welcoming.Service was quick and efficient as well. I ordered the moussaka which was simply delicious- soft and fluffy with a subtle creamy flavour and at the same time packed with mince meat. The size looked small at first glance but it proved to be quite filling towards the end.My partner, who had the chicken souvlaki, enjoyed his dinner all the same as the chicken was melt in your mouth tender and seasoned perfectly. All mains come with a generous portion of Greek Salad and crispy, fluffy chips. It was definitely well worth the money spent as servings were massive.Some things to consider, this is a no debit/ credit card restaurant so try to find a cash point before going in. Toilets are after the first flight of stairs and are immaculately clean. Overall, this restaurant is highly recommended for those who love Greek food. We will surely come back.

The most amazing Greek food ever! Chef created an absolutely delicious mixed vegetarian dish for me specially at an incredibly low price. Amazing food.Apologies for not listing photos but was too eager to dig in to my scrumptious food.Such a lovely, lovely girl waited on us, she was so attentive and really calm despite the restaurant beginning to get busy.Will definitely be back there soon. Great place to go after a visit to the theatre, only five minute walk away.Thank you to all at Blue Island x

Authentic Greek food. Catered well for our vegetarian member of our party even though the menu seemed to suggest they only like meat eaters. And all for an amazing price. Just make sure you bring cash!

Excellent restaurant. Went to get Mezze for my brothers birthday. I'm vegetarian and they made veggie alternatives for all of the courses. Very accommodating and lovely service :)

Delicious Authentic Greek Food and faultless friendly service thoroughly recommend this gem of a place

The food was ok, but you could tell, made from cheap ingredients. Portion size - very generous. Nice atmosphere, with Greek vibe.

Delicious Authentic Greek food. The food is always fresh, flavoursome and super tasty. A lot of authentic greek dishes to choose from. Really good specials and value for money. Definitely a family favourite for a night out.

Travelling up from Bournemouth for a show, I'll admit I wasn't expecting much but it was the nearest restaurant that we found that wasn't a chain. Well don't judge too early..... super service as we entered and were seated. After being steered to meze sharing platter my wife and I were hit with an absolutely amazing succession of plates of food. Chef, and I assume owner seemed to have put a whole lot of love in to every dish and when we gave our verdict seemed genuinely pleased to have made us happy. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. I'd definitely travel 40 mins back just for this restaurant. Loved itEdit 18th December returned again with friends and pleased to say that it was again excellent.

Best Greek restaurant in Southampton, good host, great food, the quality is superb and worth coming in every aspect.Recommend this place for everyone. Bring cash though, they do not accept cards here.
