Came here for my Sisters Birthday, was quite busy but felt compelled to leave a review from the OUTSTANDING service from Gus, who appeared to be the ONLY waiter & bartender in the entire restaurant that night. Besides from the chef in the kitchen, he was the only member of staff. Yet managed 10+ tables effortlessly. Bought out the cake & displayed it on a lovely wooden board. Quick drinks, remembered what all 8 of us ordered when placing the dishes down. Fantastic. Lovely tasty food. Will definitely be back! Thankyou Gus!

Really upset to be leaving this view as I used to love this place.Firstly, we booked a table for 9 and had to pay a £90 deposit, which is extortionate! It says that's £10 per person, but who is going to go round asking each person to transfer them £10 deposit? It said it was coming off the bill so I just forgot about it and moved on.However, on arrival we found to be on two separate tables - one 4 and one 5. As a group of friends that only see each other a couple of times a year we were absolutely gutted. We asked if we could push them together and were told (quite rudely) no. Because the waiter needs to be able to walk through the middle and it's a fire hazard (as a table out of the way in the corner at the front of the restaurant this was confusing).Next we ordered drinks, the men all wanted corona and again were told quite rudely "can't you see the tap is out of order?"The food was OK, a shame some of our favourites were missing off the menu but we let the staff know in the hope they were added back in future. It was also very cold. We were sat by the door and every time it opened it was freezing. The cocktails were overpriced and not amazing, as were the mocktails. And we were often left waiting to order drinks when ours were long empty, despite it not being that busy and there seeming to be a lot of staff. We also has to ask several times for our prawn crackers (after the meal had finished) we still hadn't had them! And lastly, the £90 was not taken off the bill. We had to ask for it to be, to which the waiter responded "didn't you just want it refunded to your card"? Very odd...All in all, we will be booking at one of the other two in future (which were sold out and we couldn't get into at the time... it goes to show why this one had space!)I would like to give one positive, we all liked how our glasses were constantly refilled with water.

Mixed feelings;Pros: tasty food - premium but definitely tasty, lovely cocktails and presented brilliantly, nice ambience, staff friendly.Love the idea of having a different mango experience than the portswood and above bar places (which are both great too).Cons: Cold. Our table of 5 and the table next to us were all wearing our coats! Feel like the management need to make it a more inviting temperature.Service - though friendly, was slow, only two tables in the restaurant for dinner and our food came out staggered. Drinks left empty for 20+ minutes at a time without being visited by staff for refills. Would have had additional drinks on our visit but we didn't fancy risking waiting too long so went somewhere else. One extra note. Happy hour...seriously 5-6 only? What market/demographic is this aimed for? Make it later and/or longer and you'd have much busier evenings in the week because the cocktails are some of the best I've had in Southampton.

Most delicious cocktails in town cocktail 🍹 🍸Definitely worth to try this place👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

The cocktails here are absolutely incredible, with some flavours that you just don't experience elsewhere. The decor is also really nice, with a sophisticated jungle sort of theme, and the Thai tapas plates are to die for. Great for vegetarians and vegans too

What an opening weekend! So glad Mango are back, the new changes are great and I love how it's running now. Much more of a cocktail bar than a restaurant now. The tapas is as good as I remember if not better. The drinks menu is extensive with something for everyone, the whisk(e)y flights are interesting too, I bought the 'Flight to Asia' which was a taste sensation. Our host (Jacob I think their name was) was very knowledgeable and helped tailor our experience and explained the drinks and processes, obviously they were very busy with it being reopening weekend but he still spent time with us and made it feel special!Highly recommend Mango for the vibe and location. 10/10

I had never been to this branch of Mango before but my friend and I had a great evening. They were busy as expected after eight months of being closed, but we were well looked after. The tapas portions were great and the manager (Russian gent) was very welcoming and knowledgeable about the spirits on offer. There was not much distancing seen or precautions taken other than scanning the QR code at the door and staff in masks. As they have just reopened, this detail might have been overlooked? Either way, I'd still come back as Mango offered us a great experience.

I had a fantastic time at Mango Thai Tapas, o was particularly impressed that all of the waiters were wearing full suites (and face makes during CV19), very smart!Decor was lovely, decked out to look like the inside of a Thai shack, very stylish with a beautiful fountain in one corner and vert imitate. The food was fantastic, I love Thai and tapas style portions / eating so this was a lot of fun getting to try lots of dishes, great takes of tradition Thai foods. The drinks were amazing too, well made and freshly done, could see the barman making them - waiters were all friendly too and made great drinks recommendations.Bill was a bit pricey but at a lot and given the quality it was fair. Will be back as soon as I can, thanks again.

Lovely relaxed atmosphere. Food and drink were good but as there one only one barman, if you order cocktails it can be a bit slow. Ordered the cricket grub things (see picture) but they didn't taste of anything. All other food was really good though.Tapas places should adjust menus for the amount of people in the group though. 5 spring rolls for 4 people, or 3 of things is awkward.Nice place if you're not in a rush and just want to take your time over dinner (and try multiple things). We took our time and had a lovely evening. We'll be going back
