Melo Restaurant in Southampton

We had today a diner with 6 colleagues. We all have appreciated the quality and richness of the meals and above all the kindness of the 2 servers who looked after us. I definitely recommend that place if you wish to spend a good time in family or with friends, if you do eat a lot ! , and at good prices. 👍

I always going with my family and I never disappoint with their food. The food is always fresh with the same quality and tasty. Staff are very friendly and restaurant is always clean. It’s a best Persian restaurant in south.

Great food and shisha. I have been there with my friends and we has a good time there. I recommend mixed grill if you are a group.

One of the best restaurants I have been to. Food very tasty and very large portions. Everything fresh and beautifully presented. Very nice and helpful staff. I will definitely visit this place again and recommend it to everyone 100%

Very disappointed in this Persian restaurant. For a Friday evening it was quiet with only 2 of the 8 or so tables occupied. We took a table by the toilets, not great as it turned out we were on constant route for toilet users. I think the locals were using the facilities as there weren’t that many customers in there.After a few minutes of looking at the menu we were told that they only took cash, now don’t get me wrong I am sure they have their reasons, however the prices were around £15 for a main meal which isn’t cheap, so the bill could soon rack up- who carries that much cash these days especially post covid The menu had a lot of lamb stew variations and not being terribly familiar with Persian food we opted for lamb stew of two different types and saffron rice.Well there was lots of white rice with a runway of yellow rice sprinkled on the top. One stew the meat was cold but the sauce hot, work that one out?? And the other stew was green and very oily, dark green so goodness knows what was in it. We sent the cold stew back and it was replaced with apologies, but the stew wasn’t very impressive and was tasteless.The final thing came with the bill, we were astonished to see the cold stew had been left on there. We had to pay for it even though it was literally a health hazard.Wine was cheap Costco individual bottles, choice of 3 red, white or rose and very pricey, they had around 5 lagers and no IPA. Will NOT be recommending or going back.

I went with my family to try Iranian food for the first time and I had a great experience. We ordered mixed grilled for four, portions was huge and so delicious. Rice was so nice and they had a fresh baklava that we ordered after food with tea. Restaurant was very clean and staff was friendly. We will back again to try other dishes.

Great Persian food I tried. Kebab was tasty and fresh. Friendly staff and warm atmosphere. We will back again.

If I could give 0 stars I would. I went to Melo Persian restaurant with my mate on Wednesday 02/02/22 after 4pm. I ordered Grilled Salmon was salty and my mate ordered kebab was absolutely tasteless. The food wasn’t fresh .I said to staff Salmon is too salty she said we didn’t salted and showed attitude .We will never go again

Negative: Ordered the kebab koobideh. Was expecting to get a good portion of rice with 2 delicious minced lamb skewer. Ended up getting a good portion of rice with 2 charcoals instead. It didn’t just look like charcoal, it tasted like one too.Positive: Really good portion for the price and food was warm when delivered. Despite the charcoals; the saffron rice, was nicely cooked and flavoured though. The only shame was that I was missing my lamb and it got replaced by 2 charcoals instead.
