Mettricks Guildhall Place in Southampton

The coffee here was good but I found it bizarre that for the full brunch options there was either vegan or full meat and nothing for vegetarians - they tried to charge me extra for swapping in eggs for one of the vegan items of food. There’s a lack of good brunch places in Southampton that really cater to different dietary needs.

Quite pricey but good vibes, food, coffee & brownies

We like Mettricks because of its setting and atmosphere and because the breakfast/brunch until 5pm is unbeatable. Unfortunately we had a very bad experience this last time due to their poor service… coffees were forgotten and we had to go downstairs and re-ask for them… they forgot to bring our cake (although the staff was very kind to refund us) and our burger was served without bacon! (when we complained they told us that they had run out of it and that we should have been informed when ordering, but this wasn’t the case... again very kindly the staff offered hash browns in return for the missing bacon). We like Mettricks and we would like to come back again so we hope the next time we do so the service ensures our experience is (once again) the one we like Mettricks for!

OK, but expensive and not at all welcoming. Quite shocking really, despite my attempts, in being polite to them. Took a little while for our drinks too, and the place was mostly quiet.I'm going to assume something had happened earlier, for staff to have been so 'neutral' with their customers, but under normal circumstances, I would have rated this as 2 stars, maximum, for this experience.I cannot recommend, but I suspect you might get a different experience on another day.

I’m struggling to find good coffee in Southampton but this place is the best I’ve come across so far.It’s ludicrous how long you have to wait sometimes. Went on the weekend to be told a 15 min wait for coffee ? I looked around to see most people already had one so it was most confusing.Good food and great coffee. Just a bit of hustle needed from the staff and it’d be perfect!

A nice big space to hang out in and service/staff are good. Coffee is fresh and well made. The food is fine but very over priced for what is quite basic fare. Like £7+ for plain eggs and toast is ludicrous and add bacon and it’s £10+. Brunch starts quite late too.. is it even brunch if It’s not served until lunch time?

My boyfriend and I visited yesterday for brunch whilst staying in Southampton and really enjoyed our experience. It was quite busy when we arrived so we were lucky to get a table and they let us know there would be a 30 min wait for food when we ordered which we were fine with and they served our food within this timescale.We had the Turkish Eggs and Full English Breakfast Wrap and both dishes were delicious and good portion sizes.Would definitely recommend!!

A very pleasant visit here for an early dinner before visiting the Mayflower theatre. We had a few beers and then ordered burgers. The chicken stack with hash browns & egg was delicious as were the seasoned fries. My companion had a double beef burger with onion jam and also enjoyed it very much. The staff were helpful & friendly and the whole place had a really great friendly vibe. Menu extensive for teas coffees drinks but quite limited on food. Having said that a few things done well is preferable to huge choice but done poorly.

Nice outside space next to the park. We had a horrible experience here waiting for our cocktails for over 40min. The staff told us there was a problem with the app that the shop is using for order, however, we could see that others customer were receiving their drink but us... The Shop Manager should train its staff properly.
