Portswood Chinese in Southampton

Wouldn’t even get it a star if you didn’t have too to write a review, if half the reviews on here aren’t false they must of had a really bad night on Friday. The rice was in clumps and stuck together it looked like it had been cooked for a week and the chicken was yellow underneath the skin. I took the meal straight back.

Always good food, delivered with a smile. Love the chicken balls, special curry and special fried rice.

I have eaten at almost all the take aways in hampshire as i worked for a takeaway business. My wife and i ate here last night and it was so bad I nearly threw up. The overwhelming flavour were salt, Chinese 5 spice and out of date chicken. This place does not deserve 4.7, as a take away fan i would give this place 1 star because neither of us has died yet. Honestly the worst chinese in Hampshire.

The spring rolls must be frozen store bought, and my Chow Mein had a weird taste to it. Wouldn't recommend it.

Thoroughly enjoyed every part of this meal..I and my girlfriend love Chinese food but somewhat gave up trying to find a good place that doesn't use cheap ingredients/pre cooked dishes etc..we heard about portswood Chinese and thought we'd have a go..very happy! Real chicken breast and sauce kept separate. I could tell the food was fresh as the veg was still crunchy. Sound delivery driver was polite and wouldn't even accept a tip! Definitely will be coming here from now on..Unfortunate edit: have since been quite disappointed on multiple occasions :(

If you want some nice sweet and sour chicken balls, this is the right place for you (if you're around the Portwoods area). Chip portions are reasonable too.What makes this place good are the curries. Very tasty!

Nice taste good service and decent price. The only thing was lacking that the variety in the vegetables in the vegetable curry. It could be way better ....

Great food, cooked quickly. A super range of dishes, including plenty of familiar favourites. Friendly service (including the offer of free delivery), but you can only pay by cash. No cards? It's the 21st century! Come on, keep up.

Came here fo the first time this evening Excellent fresh food which seems to be a rarity nowadays with Chinese food. Good size portions. Looking forward to trying the other dishes. If your looking for a good chinese try this place!

Large portions and great tasting food. I had nasi goreng (one of best tasting around Southampton) and sesame prawn toast (which was the best I've had recently). Will definitely be ordering from here from now on.
