Minimum menu of hot / cold drinks served up till 4pm, heated toasties or sausage rolls. Small selection of food available. Lift from supermarket ground floor to café first floor, toilet for wheelchair customers and also baby changing room next to ladies and gentlemen toilets. Like this place, service time is variable from sensible to disappointing, the food is good and all of the prices are low, so I can’t really complain about anything. The staff are friendly and helpful, anything you need is available, and the soft drinks machine is not too bad, better at least than maccies.Overall, I would recommend to someone who just wants a cheap lunch in good portions.

Meh... Great location, easily accessible. But, it's a bit noisy at times and not huge selection. It's OK though, does the job. Staff are friendly but workflow is not exactly the fastest in the world. That said, I personally appreciate the relaxed pace.

Awful service..... older waitress with big freckles was complaining about her job and how bad Sainsbury’s was an employerI understand it’s a cafe above a supermarket but this was just shocking..Dropped my plate on the table while talking to another waitress.. no apologyThen another customer enquires about their meal only to be told she only had one pair of handsSainsbury’s should send a mystery shopper to portswood and see it for themselves

Good points: Their toasted teacakes are the best! Some of the other food is pretty good too (the fries, especially the sweet potato ones, mmm, the soups). Also the staff are very friendly.Bad points: The cutlery is often not clean. The main meals are variable.

Hallumi breakfast. Fantastic, well cooked and hot. Perfect.

Service was appaling. They had no hot food, and it looked like the water had stopped. The woman behind the counter couldn't have cared less, and was swearing. I walked away and let Customer Services know....very poor.

I definitely didn't have any issues like the previous reviews. Our meal was really nice, the food took a little bit of time to get to us but it was extremely busy. We ordered really good food and the portion sizes were good, average sized and were tasty. It wasn't that expensive to be honest either. Choose wisely though as some dishes from previous reviews state too have said that some are over priced. Our meal was around £12-15 which was reasonable for what we had. My girlfriend and I enjoyed our experience and we would go back if in the vicinity.

Range of hot food is limited and can take quite a while to turn up even when not that busy - when it is busy it can be chaos - food took 40 mins to turn up on our last visit. Kids portions can be a bit small (2 chicken nuggets) and a bit overcooked. Good range of cakes, pastries and hot drinks though and staff are always helpful and friendly.
