The Avenue Chinese/Fish & Chips Takeaway in Southampton

The Avenue was awful! Back in January , I ordered and it was 3 hours late and cold, I complained , and had a refund. since then , i ordered and 16th February, I had a delivery and it was tasty and perfect. I ordered tonight 25th February 2022 and my order was cancelled because of my order in January . Wow ! They need to take responsibility and get over it , we all make mistakes . They took my money 9 days ago , but not tonight, for some reason , refused my order because of a mess up there end in January..,. What ?? Sort yourselves out !

After making an order, I received a delivery time for 50 minutes time, After 55minutes i called to enquire where my food was, It had allegedly left the restaurant 5minutes prior, 20minutes pass, No food (I only live a 8minute journey away) i call again, He'll be 5 minutes.Hooray he arrived ... (with a Sainsburys bag of lukewarm food) I took the food to the kitchen opened it, It didn't feel warm so it was probed with a thermometer.Phoned the restaurant back, Told them our food was lukewarm and it had been in transit (allegedly) for just over 25minutes (in a sainsburys bag) after a short back and forward with an argumentative man, He came to the conclusion the beat thing to do is to send the driver back yo collect the food and issue a refund.Driver turns up & apologises (It was'nt his place to apologise) and takes the food away,Our KFC arrives within 25minutes of ordering, I phone the The Avenue restaurant back after finishing my KFC to enquire about a refund reference number to make sure my refund has been put through and then have to explain to the man on the end of the phone how to cancel the order to generate a refund.Over all terrible and argumentative Customer service, Lukewarm food & long waiting times.

Ordered online, arrived on given time. The rice was tasteless, the sauce was not nice at all. Most disgusting. Chinese we have ever had! A waste of £21.00. Will never get from here again!

Have been ordering from this take away for about a month now. Delicious, fresh food, always delivered promptly. Very friendly staff!

I have used this chinese approximately once a month, the food is delicious, I ring in my order and I find the guy pleasant and courteous, I can pay by card over the phone or cash when food is delivered which only costs £1 wait time is quoted 45mins to an hour the last delivery was very quick. I can highly recommend this chinese and look forward to my next meal

If i could give a 0 star i would. Ordered food (3 items from the popular list so shouldn't take long). Quoted 1:30 for delivery!!! they then wouldn't answer the phone and kept sending it straight to voicemail, as they didn't want to answer. Managed to get connected through Just Eat and then they tried stating 'traffic' as a reason. I live 5 MINUTES drive away!!! DO NOT ORDER FROM THESE PEOPLE (scammers)!!!!!!

Would not recommend the lady who took the orders couldn’t understand any form of English had to repeat adress 5 times was waiting ages for food then the delivery driver phoned couldn’t speak English either and said couldn’t find my address after being given specific instructions 4 times the food was. Disgusting chips where stone cold curry was dry bland and made me feel sick mushy and my husband mentioned that the meat in the chowmein was cold poor quality and poor customer service I normally order from eastern house unfortunately it was a Sunday and where closed but they are the real deal round here not disappointing time wasters like the Avenue

The best Chinese ever!! Recommend the shredded smoked chicken...it is literally so good!! Everything on the menu is delicious and never had a bad experience. The people are so sweet and lovely and service is always wonderful!! Xx
