The Ship Inn in Southampton

A superb 'proper pub' visited on a Monday evening which was bustling. Excellent food, outstanding customer service and brilliant ambience. Just wish it was 129 miles closer to my house!

I only wanted a cup of tea. I walked in at 11:30, but found that they don't open until midday. The staff were having a tea break, but the landlady got up and made me a pot of tea anyway! So kind. The pub is a beautiful old building and has a lovely pub garden.

Went for just a coffee with a friend. Lovely atmosphere, very friendly staff. Didn't eat here, but looking at the food coming out of the kitchen, we'll definitely be back for a meal!

Very nice but portions very large. You need a big appetite to finish your plate

A welcoming reception. The pub has been refurbished since the last visit, but that was a very long time ago when I worked locally and it made a good place for a Friday afternoon pint. Met some friends for dinner and a catch up. The food was extremely good (sausages and mash), tasty and just the right temperature, so no complaints whatsoever. Price wise it is good value for the quality of food, a bit more expensive than some, but cheaper than others! Will definitely be back.

The beef Sunday roasts we had were fantastic and very well cooked. We wanted the two course option but there was no vegan option for the desserts. We aren't eco warriors but my Fiancee has a genuine intolerance to egg and too much dairy.The lack of vegan choice to suit different needs was disappointing and people shouldn't have to pay extra for the choice.Staff were polite but the young manager on shift, as Alison wasn't in, seemed quite ignorant to the fact people actually have an intolerance to certain foods.

Great meal great beer great service from lovely people, what more can you want.

First time of being here last night. Four of us went in for a drink. Plenty of room to park. Very clean environment and friendly helpful staff. Good range of drinks. While we didn't eat here, the food we saw looked and smelt great.

Really nice nautical themed pub, we found this by accident on way back from something else and really glad we popped in. We had light lunch, starters of fees fried brie and the calamari. Really tasty and well cooked. Will definitely return

Great place to eat. Clean and spacious plenty of parking and outside sitting area as well. It's tucked away, but a little gem! Prices are reasonable and food is freshly cooked and plenty some 👍😃🙏💛
