Super friendly staff, good selection on tap, and a truly amazing Sunday roast. Had a great time and will be back

Really lovely pub with a few boutique rooms upstairs. We stayed and had breakfast in the morning too. Their chef had a family emergency so a member of waiting staff had to step in and cook all the guests breakfasts. They did a fantastic job and it didn't affect our stay at all. The room was well equipped and was decorated nicely, however it was incredibly hot for a stay in autumn and we had to keep the fan on all night to try and cool it a little further. If I'm back in the area again I'd quite likely book it again and will absolutely recommend to others too.

Down for the boat show looking for breakfast and wow did it tick all the boxes!Excellent food cooked superbly and the service was just great... no snobbery just levelled with everyone 😀Going by hearsay from guests the rooms where great so this place is saved for an overnight stay 😀Check it out guys 👍🏻Reserve us a room for Thursday the 15th of September 2022 please :-)

Nice place and friendly staff, the room was lovely and had everything you would need it’s a little loud in the night as it’s next to a couple of other pubs but not too bad.Only downside was the breakfast, everything was overcooked and wasn’t very nice at all, so I’d skip the breakfast option and go elsewhere.

This is a cosy small hotel with alot of patina. The hotel part has its own guest entrance, but can also be accessed through the restaurant at ground floor. They have very nice food there, and the rooms are nice and clean. I will use this hotel on my next visit as well.

Comfy rooms, very clean and we somehow managed to get a very very good price!!! Stayed here twice and the tall gentleman (sorry we forgot to get your name hahha!) who checked us in on the night shift on Sunday was extremely welcoming and helpful, as was the lovely lady who served our breakfast the next morning 😊😊 they’re both great assets to the pub and made our stay lovely. Our breakfast was fab and prompt and I will recommend this place highly to everyone and will be back soon for the third time!!!! Thank you very much all 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊

It’s perfectly placed first of all. We stayed for 5 days and used the car once. There is no parking but a public one very close by will cost £8 per day. Docks, city centre, museums, red jet and all manner of eateries easy walking distance. It’s a party street so be ready for happy sounds coming up from the street. Our room was ok at the price and we are told a refurb is imminent. The historic feel of the place is really nice, you are walking in the footsteps of titanic passengers who stayed there before sailing. The real joy of the white star is the staff, Bridget and her team are all awesome. Helpful, friendly and professional they produce very good food and service, nothing seemed too much trouble. VeryMuch recommended, thanks guys.

The food here is a hidden gem! The burger I had here is probably one of the very best I've ever had, and certainly the best I've had in Southampton. Fantastically juicy, amazing sauce - complements to the chef!

We stayed here as a large group and it was fabulous. The staff were very friendly and the app based table service app was great. The food was good value and tasty and they had one of the best espresso Martinis I've had in ages! The breakfast we had the next day was also delicious. Our room was comfortable and clean with black out curtains and a very comfortable bed. My only feedback is that you can hear everything going on in the hallway from the rooms and although a fan was provided the rooms were still quite stuffy/hot. Other than that I can't recommend this place enough and I would definitely recommend it to anyone staying in the area!

This really is a lovely venue which I have been going to for years. The food is amazing, (sorry too busy eating and chatting I forgot pics so next time!). The staff are very nice and the ambience and decor make it a lovely place to be. If you haven't been give it a go xx
