Great traditional pub. Always a good atmosphere.

This very traditional pub is as old as the hills, however with a recent makeover it mixes old with new Very well. With rather low ceilings with leather straps for hanging onto if you had too many lol (not sure what there originally used for but many of the features have remained. An open fire and a menu consisting of all the pub classics makes for a real cosy step back into time.

I haven't been here for about 15 years because I hadn't had a good experience, but assumed it must have changed hands in that time and finally popped in again. Now perhaps my favourite pub in the area. Great beer, lovely food and very friendly staff. Dog friendly as all pubs should be.

Lovely traditional pub that serves fabulous food. Can get busy especially when the weather is good as they have a small, compact garden that is well looked after. The staff are friendly and welcoming, the prices are on par with most pubs. The only downside is the parking. Only space for 3 vehicles on front, no rear, so everything else is roadside which has frequent residential use and with some hedging and vehicles restricting drivers view theres an accident waiting to happen. Best advice is to park further up the road and walk back, but definitely visit this pub.

Very nice little country-style pub just outside the town centre. Really nice Sunday roast for a tenner with generous portions. Friendly atmosphere, with the staff being welcoming and the locals a lot less chavvy than other places in the town.Has parking and outdoor seating too.Recommended for a Sunday afternoon pint and meal to send you to sleep on the sofa when you get home.
