A lovely local gastropub that has no nonsense food at reasonable prices.

What an amazing pub to stumble across. Nice beer garden, well maintained as well. Fantastic service and plenty of different lagers and beers to choose from. The staff are very friendly and polite, and the Manager Glen is so accommodating and happy.

Beautiful pub, staff so friendly. We had a lovely safe clean evening. Also knowledge of their produce really great. Highly recommend. Didn't get to try their food this time (I'd already eaten) but it is all freshly prepared on site and looks very inviting, going to be heading back to sample.

Great food, reasonable variety to choose from. Not busy!

Booked at a few days notice due to illness cancelling a family lunch elsewhere, and was very pleased with the service and quality of food . Cosy environment that probably won't appeal to youngsters, and reasonable value for money.

Very nice 18th century pub / restaurant which also offere set meal nights. Food is nice and not to pricey.

Excellent waitress on the Thursday evening we visited. We haven't been for maybe 4 years so it was nice to see the old favourite of calves liver still on offer. We both had it but this time around they have updated their crockery - black bowl-and their presentation - in a tower - and it was just as good as we remembered. Thursday is pie night and those we saw looked great.

Quick service. Nice atmosphere in the pub. Recommend you book, or at least phone before you travel to make sure they have a table.[Aug 2018] Visited for Sunday lunch for the first time in 2 years and am pleased to say the they still serve great food. Loads of beers on offer. Plenty of seating as they have a nice covered area outside which wasn’t there last time I visited. Possibly the best Sunday lunch in the area.

Lived locally for years, but had not visited this pub before. The mistake was mine, as we found the service to be fantastic and the Food was of a very high standard.I had chicken and chorizo pie with mash. It was delicious.

Really nice friendly pub,sunday roast was good although prefer crispier tatties. Good range of puds and all staff very pleasant. Looking forward to trying out their nicely done outside area when the weather improves 😉
