Arrived with family after long Easter walk, back entrance was closed was greeted at front entrance by group of ladies who were uncompromising and rude ,they refused entry as they said that they were fully booked. The place was half empty we were very thirsty we only wanted a drink ( signs outside welcomed us in ) the first time we have ever been refrused entry into a British pub, we supported this pub through Covid with our family paying regular visits however not impressed with the snobbery and bad customer service. Good luck we have found much better pubs around and we will no longer be visiting yours. Hope you stay full booked which is doubtful if you turn your locals down in the way you did today.

Good food and service. Had the belly pork and it was tasty, mashed potato was a little straightforward, not even seasoned, but overall a nice meal out.

A very nice foodie pub. Good size garden and covered area. Staff were pleasant and food was tasty. Nicely decorated. It is family friendly.

So disappointed with our experience here. My parents had been before and enjoyed it, so decided to book a table for my Dad’s birthday for the whole family. It seemed like perfect spot, with a kids playground and outside tables so they could play. My mum picked the big round table and booked it several months in advance (she’s freakishly organized), and confirmed that the playground would be open as that was one of the main reasons we chose the Half Moon. She was reassured it “never closed”.On the day however, upon arrival, we were told that the playground was actually closed for refurbishment. (Despite us being told it never closed, and no one had contacted us). Eventually they offered to light the fire pit in the table for free (they usually charge £10 for that?!?... hadn’t told us that when we booked either 🤦🏼‍♀️ ). They also had us seated at a different table than the one we’d requested, so we ended up moving all of the cutlery to the table we’d originally booked by ourselves.Eventually the owner showed up and apologized and offered us a bottle of Prosecco, which was nice, although it came out warm. The appetizers were very good, and things started to look better after the initial drama and confusion. Our waiter was very sweet and tried really hard. The mains weren’t great though. I had the crispy pork belly, which wasn’t crispy, just chewy and old tasting and still had the string on. My dad had the lamb chops, but the potatoes were still raw. My husband had the burger cooked medium, but it was raw. He tried to eat it but gave up, they offered to take it back and brought a new one, which was nice, but that was raw too. The filet steak and the chateau brainde were good, no complaints there. It wasn’t busy at all, so not sure why the food was so mediocre...The location is lovely, and the garden and play area are really nice. The appetizers are good. However, overall for the price (hundreds of ££ for a table of 8) it was a really disappointing experience and I’m so sad for my Dad whose birthday was a bit of a flop.

Just had a wonderful breakfast. My husband had the full English and I opted for the vegetarian. Beautifully cooked with excellent service. The pub looks stunning inside and we can not wait to go again and have a drink in the lovely covered garden area. A real gem.

We were delighted to discover this place and enjoyed a delicious lunch with 9 friends. The covered outside seating is extremely comfortable. All the staff are friendly and extremely helpful. Highly recommended!

Very disappointed. My wife and I have been on a number of occassions and been very pleased with food, service and selection of beers & wine. The food tonight was decidedly below average and the prices extortionate. Sadly we will not be frequenting the Half Moon again.

Beautiful setting, excellent service, delicious food!

Nice play area, nice food. Only disappointing that waiters don't get all the gratuity so pay tips in cash!

We had our wedding reception at this lovely pub! It was beautifully set up, the food was amazing and the service was great! We are very happy to have chosen the half moon for our wedding! We would definitely recommend this lovely pub to anyone looking for somewhere to host an event.
