Went for my brothers birthday. Things started to go due hill. Our table was not ready despite we arrived 5 minutes early. So our group was shown seats at the bar where we ordered drinks. After 15-20minutes, we were asked for the seats back as it was reserved for diners. However, our table was still not ready so we refused to leave until we had a table. I wasn’t prepared to hold a teapot and cup while they made us wait for our table. If it was the other way round, they probably would have released our table. The table could have accommodated an extra person but they refused to let us add an extra seat when we had originally asked. When the food was bought out, it was missing the seafood platter and rice for the curry dish. We had to chase them, they didn’t seem to care. By the time these arrived, the other people had almost finished their main course. The fish curry was warm by then. The seafood platter was half the size and almost double the cost.We have been going here for years and this has got to be our worst experience. What an absolute disappointment! We will not be returning customers.

The wait staff was a bit uppity except for a very sweet new bald waiter who didn't speak English.. very sweet. Our waiter took our order and we never saw him again. Odd.They had some 2.00 cover per person that they didn't know why it was there. Strange experience and very pricey.

Food was fresh. Courgettes are not fried but baked. The food was not greasy at all and light yet hearty. It's a large restaurant divided up in smaller parts, which makes it quieter and more intimate. The waiter topped up our wine whenever it went down. It was clean. Nothing more to ask from a restaurant. Was a lovely experience.

I was really disappointed with this place giving the expensive prices and the reputation. Our oysters and octopus starter were incredible, however, the main and desert were very average. Considering the high price I expected a lot more!!! We ordered a side of buttered potatoes and they were rock solid, very underdone. The service was also poor and the waiter was a bit rude.. Not somewhere I’d rush to go back to.

On my list for years. We were able to grab get a table early on a Sunday evening. Flawless scallops and great fish soup but hugely disappointing whole turbot which arrived looking rather sad and neglected. The sides were equally a bit lacklustre - mixed opinions at the table about whether the potatoes were under cooked. Service was good, wine ok. The room is great though, just stick to oysters and champagne at the bar next time.

Visited here as a treat for my birthday - I have always wanted to try the food as seafood is my favourite. I wasn't disappointed. The service was excellent. The restaurant was busy, however both the food & service was first class. We booked to sit at the bar, as this had been recommended to us. Great atmosphere. I already want to go back!!

My husband gave me a surprise 65years - birthday lunch yesterday at this restaurant. The ambient design. Decoration were amazing. Customer service was top-notch. Seafood were super fresh. My husband ordered Monkfish curry. It was superb tasty. The Triple cheese soufflés are to die for. ❤ Highly recommended ⭐️ ⭐⭐⭐⭐💯% would be back again.

Disclaimer : I hate fish and seafood but having spent years booking this restaurant weekly for people I worked with over a decade ago I felt the need to try it pre theatre last Friday. There are plenty of options for non fish and seafood Eaters. We were pushed for time so I didn’t get to sample more than a main but my goodness, the squash risotto was INSANE. So tasty and moreish.A wonderfully relaxed atmosphere in the heart of theatre land. I’ll definitely be back to try some other dishes.

This is a classic restaurant in London. If you are around and love seafood, and food in general, you cannot miss it!! They also have really good wines and champagnes. The service is superb, we got served by a guy from Ecuador who spoke perfect English, Spanish, French and Italian. He was absolutely brilliant. The guy at the door is also very nice.I highly recommend it!!!

Came for a Monday lunch, and had a blast!Yep his is not a cheap institution, but the quality and the execution speak for themselves. The place takes you back in time, with its old steakhouse / airport lounge vibe. The oysters were really fresh and yummy, and both fish portions were delicious. The apple pie was also great and service is smooth. Will definitely come back again!
