The Aviator in Swale

Took my elderly mother for Sunday roast. The menu was confusing to say the least. When we did order our food it arrived cold and the roast beef was as tough as old boots. Not wishing to make a scene we carried on eating. When asked by the waitress if it was ok, I was polite and said “I’ve had better”. She didn’t respond and walked off. We pretty much gave up on the meal and another more senior member of staff came over and asked if we wanted the desert menu. We declined and then she asked if everything was ok. I decided to be honest and I said we were disappointed as the food was served cold and wasn’t very good. I said I wasn’t asking for a refund and would pay but that it had been a disappointing experience. The lady then decides to argue back at me claiming I’d told her colleagues it was lovely. I had not. I find the fact she wanted to argue back more annoying than the disappointing food. We will not be back! Poor quality food and even worse customer service in a disappointing environment. Avoid this place!

Organised to hold a gathering here for 100+ people in March 2022, with the option of a buffet. Food was lovely, all fresh and homemade. Staff were amazing, very polite and happy to help. Thank you very much - would recommend highly

Just had a lovely Mother’s Day afternoon tea here, table was beautifully presented with a good selection of cakes and sandwiches, glass of Prosecco on arrival and plenty of tea! The two lads that served us made sure we were topped up with tea and regularly checking to see if everything was ok. A lovely afternoon, thank you!

Lovely food great portions! Nice atmosphere

Finally visited here for a lunch with my dad, the food was amazing (huge portion!) Staff were very friendly and welcoming, lovely atmosphere and great prices! Will definitely visit again! 😊

Had a really lovely meal with my other half, the bratwurst was wonderful and the staff were very friendly and attentive .

An extensive menu made it difficult to choose but I went for the XL ribs - a real gut-buster!. Ale well kept. If the bar had been a bit warmer I would have given 4 stars.

Really nice food and good service. Only tiny complaint is that we were seated around by the pizza kitchen and it felt quite cold round there.

Wonderful place. Top of the range pub with your familiar pub grub. But done by people who clearly go the extra mile to give you the best quality. Service was friendly and fast. It was mere minutes we had to wait for our starters from when I initially ordered. Followed by our mains shortly afterwards.The atmosphere was great. Welcoming and relaxed. The was no hustle and bustle to get caught up in. We just took our seats and enjoyed a lovely social lunch out.The staff clocked us as soon as we walked in and explained how things were down (pick a table order at the bar). Which is always nice. I hate walking into a place unsure of what I'm supposed to do. Am I to wait to be seated where are the menus etc. So this welcoming went a long way with me.Good value for money aswell. I spent as much as I would expect to pay for any three course meal but I was very pleased seeing how well everything was done. It wasn't one of those scenarios where you pay top dollar so expect nothing less. It was you pay fairly but get the best regardless. Something everywhere should live by.There were some draw backs. For example the some food I requested wasn't available. However the staff explained to me the circumstances politely and that was OK with me. Some things can't be helped, which I understand. I then measure this by how the staff handle the situation. Which I am happy with how they did so see no reason why a star would be deducted in that case.To explain my stars I give one for value for money one for service one for atmosphere one for quality of food and one based on my overall enjoyment. I have to say in this instance all boxes are checked and would definitely be revisiting again.
