We came for Saturday lunch and the place was almost empty but still a good atmosphere. You pay separately for bar drinks and food (including a pot of tea) from the menu. But this wasn't a problem. The food was average in price and my stroganoff was as expected and the salad although finely chopped was very acceptable. My husband had the curry and he didn't think it was good at all but was a huge portion. We didn't say anything and no one asked.

Today was our first visit with a group of 5.Very pleasant waitress but the roast beef was full of gristle and tough. I had the pork which was very fatty.Potatoes and Yorkshire pudding was frozen and definitely not fresh.5 Very disappointed customers

Some customers were friendly. Behaved dogs permitted.Initially made me think of league of gentlemen (or poss RoystonV!). We're not 'locals' but didn't get Yorkshire charm I'm used to. 20+ yr old faded pics of 'celebs' still up; popular spot in early 1990s perhaps?Ask barman for lady to take food order separate, take cash. The strogonoff was better than anticipated & value for money, didn't have dessert.Will return to see if was an off day for barman!

Absolutely superb local pub, joe the landlord is a diamond , if i lived in this place it would be awsome to drink here every night.

Awesome friendly village pub. The best publicans ever. Raise charity monies every year. Hold quiz and kareoke nights

One of the best little pubs in brompton I've had many a good day in there ,the landlord is very pleased to see anyone and is very helpful and pleasant and the beers not bad either worth a visit
