We stopped off here for a drink whilst out on a countryside walk. The staff were friendly and all the covid safety measures were in place. We sat out in their garden and enjoyed the summer sun and a beer whilst watching the tractor at work in the fields opposite. We returned to the pub after a bike ride in the autumn and ate in the restaurant. The food was amazing which is why I decided to upgrade the star rating and update this review. The lady who served us was really nice and the food portion size was very generous and reasonably priced. The atmosphere was very cosy and relaxing and we all enjoyed our afternoon. We hope to return again sometime soon.

I have driven and cycled past this pub many times but never had the time to stop, that was until last night after a busy day at work and a manic trip round blue water I decided I didn't want to cook. I phoned ahead as it was getting late and spoke to a pleasant young lady who advised the kitchen would still be serving until X time, I made it with a few minutes to spare. Once inside you could instantly feel there was a good atmosphere, being a bit out the way I was worried it would be "a local pub for local people" type place but that certainly wasn't the case. The bar staff were very helpful and we had a long chat about the different ways that I could walk to the pub using the footpath network. Now to the main event, the food, I had pie and chips which came with peas and gravy, it was by far the best pie and chips I have had in a very long while, packed full of meat which was good quality and very tasty. The chips were chunky, crisp and went down a treat. They were serving goachers ales at the time which I made the most of as they do a lovely pint.I have already decided to return at the weekend to sample the pudding menu as I was too full this time round!
