Such a lovely Tea house & General store with added benefits of fresh fruit, vegetables & plenty of other goodies to feast your eyes on. I also like that they respectfully retained Ex-pub glory.

We popped in for some lunch but the old set up has gone. The garden was open but a bit cold to be sat out. We bought some goodies from the store and they are serving lots of lovely homemade food. We had leek and spring onion soup which was incredible. This came with bread and butter and there was plenty of it. The food here is exceptional and love visiting.

Really nice friendly, helpful staff. Decor and thegarden adds to the ambiance of this busy quirky tea house. The food definitely got my tastebuds going overtime. There is also a shop adjoined. Whether you are vegan, vegetarian or gluten free, there is food for all. I'm a pie 'n' mash type person but i must say this place is definitely well worth a visit.

Lovely lunch shame about the stressI visited The Sondes Tea House primarily to try their vast tea selection. However after arriving at late lunchtime and seeing the main meals on offer I decided to opt for lunch too.Lunch is a set price platter option where you choose a number of dishes for a price. Everything is prepared on premises so is fresh and there is a good selection to choose from. For afters there is a good selection of sweets ranging from puddings to afternoon tea treats and I opted for the latter with a pot of tea from the extensive menu.Everything looks great at Sondes but it failed to hit the mark for me. The lunch looked great but once you take away the fancy presentation there wasn't actually much food. The tea wasn't brewed well and most of the sweets are plain pricey. I think what soured my experience was being pressured to move on. Clearly it is a busy establishment at certain times and the staff are too keen to turn tables at busy periods. Worst of all was I could hear audible complaints from the staff in the kitchen about how tired and stressed there were. No one wants to hear that when having an afternoon out.

This is vegetarian tea room. Lunch is a set price of £9.95 and is enormous. Found I could only get half way through mine. Fantastic cakes and large selection of teas.

Delicious coffee and cakes, with a vegan friendly lunch buffet and an incredible wall of tea to choose from!Stopped in here for a quick coffee before a train at Selling station, ideal location and great quality food

Lovely food but very chilly - staff and temperature. The lovely fire satisfies three or four customers only - the rest of us were playing musical tables to try and find some heat. I’m sorry about this because the concept and food are great.

This place is worth the drive to it. Foods great and it's got to be the best artisan cafe in east Kent! 'nuff said!

Real tea served to perfection. Fabulous salad lunches. Perfect ambience. Casual, comfy, cluttered, home from home.

Food delicious. Never seen such a varied tea menu! Garden is a little oasis. Quirky decor and lots of curiosities, garden ornaments and plants for sale. The staff are not always on the ball when taking orders or sorting out the bill. Have experienced a less than customer oriented service at times.
