We stopped here to meet friends and went for a long walk through the local wooded areas. We came back to the pub and sat for drinks in the gardens. There is a great selection of beers and spirits in the pub and the staff are very helpful and friendly. There is a large area for the restaurant, and the food being served up looked very nice. All in all a lovely pub in a beautiful area.

Wow! Excellent food, the mackerel pate was delicious. The staff were so friendly and helpful. I can't wait to go back.

Lovely pub, friendly service, nice walks in the area. Dog friendly. Food first class.

Lovely family and dog friendly pub. Staff were lovely. Service a little slow but it was a busy Saturday lunchtime. Food was excellent for a pub. I had the duck stir fry - a wonderful mix of flavours, good chilli kick and the duck was tender and succulent. The passion fruit crème brûlée was one of the best I've had and the scoop of zingy sorbet complimented the taste well. Will definitely visit again when I'm in the area.

The starters we had here were great. The fishcake was apparently superb. But unfortunately that is where it ended. We waited a long time for our mains, which could be forgiven if it was worth it but it wasn't. £18, one of the more expensive pork roasts I have had, for one of the worst roasts I have had in a long long long time. The gravy was just flavourless slop on the plate. Nothing had been seasoned at all. The plate had just been bulked out with flavourless greens, the crackling... no joke was about 2cm², laughable. The Yorkshire was nice and big, and would have been nice if they had put some salt in the batter. The staff were efficient enough but by no means friendly. I hate to be that person but a smile would have been appreciated. This was the first time I have visited this pub but with so many other lovely pubs in the wider area I wouldnt return, especially not for a roast.

We had a lovely Sunday lunch, both the food and staff were lovely

This lovely pub had been recommended by several people and my partner and I have finally visited. Staff were charming, wine good but I can't comment on beer as I was driving so on soft drinks only.Menu gives the appearance of a venue a cut above your average gastropub so we'll go back and eat there shortly then I can update this review.

Went for a birthday meal this week and had a wonderful evening, fantastic food and a great choice on the menu (I highly recommend the pea & broad bean risotto). Others ordered the pan fried haddock and battered fish which looked incredible, all the portions were generous and well presented (love the plates and bowls!)Would definitely recommend and will be going back soon

Great pre-Christmas lunch with the family. Amazing Steak & Ale pie, with some of the best chips I have ever tasted. Welcomed a slightly muddy dog with open arms
