Caterham Chinese in Tandridge

The family run business ALWAYS go out of their way to make the customer welcome and I always choose to return to this restaurant for take away dishes.They continue to provide excellent food, a great atmosphere and more importantly have continued to look after their customers and own staff welfare during the challenges over the past two years.I read some negative comments of the reviews, as a customer you have a choice to eat somewhere else or keep returning as a loyal customer. My choice is to return and support local business.

This is the third time my partner and I have visited the Caterham Chinese although our friend we were dining with is a regular customer. The food was absolutely exquisite. We had the set meal for three people, there was so much food we couldn’t eat it all and the staff offered for it to be packed up and for us to take it home. The staff were so nice and friendly, passionate about ensuring we had a good experience and the ambiance was great. The food is reasonably priced and great value for money. We would thoroughly recommend you give this family run restaurant a visit.

Great fresh food and friendly staff always ready to help if you forget the name of the dish you want but by explaining they know exactly what you after.

Have always heard that this restaurant was very good. It was only ok for me, the squid l ordered was quite rubbery and the chicken's texture felt like it had alot of water in it.Service was very friendly, on the down side there was alot of children running around.

Very good Chinese restaurant with friendly accomdating staff and an excellent menu. Portions generous, flavours wonderful. Best in the area

The food was fantastic as was the service little wonder this restaurant has been serving the highest quality Chinese food I've ever eaten.

Wonderful Authentic Chinese Menu, delicious food and lovely staff.

I gave this restaurant a try. First I need to say, as well as many uk asian restaurants, I have travelled many times to Hong Kong and Taiwan, therefore have experienced how these dishes should be. I had salt and pepper prawns, these were the worsed examples, the ratio of prawns, which were tiny, to greasy batter made them indigestible. Next was the pork dumplings, I can only imagine these had been frozen and reheated, the dumpling pastry was tough and dry, the filling was ok, but with little seasoning and no liquor, as it should be if made fresh. Next was the singapore noodles that had the minimum of ingredients for this traditional uk/us dish, I think there were indeed rice noodles, onion and red pepper, nothing else I could see or taste. Anyone can find a recipe for this dish. Missing, or minimal, ingredients that I have found in other restaurants: cabbage, beansprouts, chilli, curry powder, sesame oil, carrot, egg, prawns, pork, chicken etc. It is a mystery to me how such a restaurant can remain in business, and it is a sit down restaurant as well as a takeaway! The above was not good value at £20. Avoid.
