Pizza Express in Tandridge

Service was really good, but the pizza itself, disappointed. I had the garlic prawn with salad in the middle. About 6 prawns and salad was very plain, just spinach and rocket, no dressing which made for a dry meal. Not sure I'd go back in a hurry. Sorry pizza express

We decided to go for dinner at pizza express Oxted this evening but unsure of what time. I checked the website to see what time they closed and it said 22:30. I called the restaurant to check what was the latest time to place an order for food and they told me 22:15. They said there was no need to book a table as they weren’t busy. We arrived at 21:30 to be greeted by an empty restaurant and all staff staring at us like they’d seen a ghost! A male member of staff then asked “takeaway?” I said “no, I called 20 minutes ago to ask when last orders were and was told 22:15, it is only 21:30” the staff members then all looked at each other shocked and one said “but we’ve cleaned the kitchen!” They spoke amongst themselves for a short time while we stood waiting and then we were told it was fine and to take a seat and they’d get us some food. Obviously this is extremely unwelcoming. I called ahead of time to ensure there was space for us and that we were there in plenty of time to order food so we didn’t get there at the last minute and make everyone wait. We then placed our order quickly. Whilst we were eating our starter, a lady, who Ivan only assume was the manager as she was not wearing uniform, was leant on the counter staring at us while spinning her keys in her hands, she then started wandering around. It was the most unwelcoming experience I have ever had in a restaurant. Perhaps this would have been acceptable if we had arrived 1 minute before they had stopped serving food, however, we checked the time and arrived 45 minutes before they stopped taking orders. This was most unwelcoming, had I not been so tired I would have left and gone elsewhere, but I just wanted to eat dinner and go home. The food was delicious, no problems there. Just the unprofessional welcome of all staff members especially the manager who stood and stared at us while we ate our food which made us feel slightly uncomfortable.We haven’t been to this restaurant for a while now, there used to be a young chap with blond hair that I think was the manager, he was excellent always made everyone feel welcome and checked you had everything you needed.Even if all staff are excellent this is useless if the one leading/ managing them is no good.Once again the food itself was perfect, thanks to the chef.

Had such a lovely dinner at Pizza Express in Oxted tonight. I had the Romana Padana pizza which was delicious along with haloumi and rocket salad sides. My wife enjoyed her leggera pizza. A real treat . Good efficient service . Thank you Pizza Express we will return.

Customer Experience was disappointing. I arrived to collect our food order this evening and on arrival not even welcomed at the door , in fact I was left standing by the door for nearly a good five minutes without anyone making any effort to talk to me (the paying customer) When someone did eventually ask it was “are you here for the collection order that was put through?” I thought that was quite rude as there was no welcome or hello said but I understand people are busy on a bank holiday Monday evening.After I replied “yes I am” the woman walked off without saying anything. Couple of minutes later she returned and said “there you go” handing me the food. There was no Thank you ! which I thought was weird as previously Sunday when I was in there collect another big order the staff were very polite and helpful. The woman had a Lanyard on and was dressed differently to the others so I asked if she was the manager which she replied with “yes” so I then asked for her name and she told me her name was Anna. All I got was a confused look rather then the manager asking if everything is okay ?Infact no it was not okay to leave a paying customer standing at the door without a “hello / welcome / hi how can I help? , also not updating them with their food order or saying Thank you ! (as we have just driven 15 minutes to collect as we are just outside of the area for delivery.) The customer service tonight was disappointing and making me wonder why we drive 15 minutes to collect a pizza that dominos could have delivered and for a better price too. We came back because the food is Really Good ! The 1 star review is not based on the quality of the food because that’s great but it’s based on customer experience.I hope this improves dramatically if we do decide to come back again.

Great food. Weird restaurant layout, feels and sounds like a school food hall with the open area. Lovely staff as well

Nice location, modern style design. Be prepared to park your car a little walk away as limited parking on the road near to the restaurant.

A good selection of tasty vegan options. Staff very helpful in making some of the other menu items vegan. Excellent service!!

Was super busy when i went but servers were super friendly and helpful, food was good however both my pizza and the pasta dish friend got had a lot of raw onion in them

It was ok, they took their time seeing us to our table and it wasn't that busy. Food was good, it's what you'd expect from Pizza Express.I was more worried about how my partner ate her pizza.

Place was great. Food was amazing.We were a group of 3 ladies, catching up after not seeing each other for a couple of years, we stayed until we were the last ones. The staff weren't rushing us and weren't worried about us just sitting there after dinner with a cup of tea. (they probably thought otherwise) would definitely recommend. Lovely staff.
