Excellent fish and chips, friendly staff.

Ordered over the counter, cod fish. Lovely big portion of fish however the taste isn’t work £6.75 at all. Very tasteless and can just taste oil. Quite upset ☹️

Very disappointing. Paid for large cod and chips and when I got home I realized it was a regular portion. It wasn't freshly cooked either. In the shop the person at the counter forgot my order and didn't seem like they knew what they were doing. Their colleague on the counter was visibly frustrated by this. All together it didn't seem like a very well run operation tonight. Have used them previously and have not had any problems but after this I will not be returning again.

Ordered skate on Jan 14th and received three skate and chips. The skate was excellent with nice thin crispy batter, However ordered skate yesterday Jan 20th and was extremely disappointed as the fish was stuck to the very thick brown batter and very dry. This has happened before on a Thursday order, do you have a different cook on these days? Also received a small piece of cod.

I use the shop frequently. Top quality fish and chips every time. Very clean premises, most obliging staff.

Definitely my go-to place! Staff are always really friendly and the portions are wonderful! Best sausage and chips I know - thank you!

Too much oil transferred from pan to bag. Need to shake and tap the scoop to get it back in the Fryer.The cod and haddock weren't marked but both tasted similar so it could have been two pieces of the same fish. The server didn't know either.

There was a long wait to even be acknowledged... 19 minutes at least in totalIt was busy with only 2 staff members and deliveroo / Uber eats / just eats orders occupying almost all of the time of the staff members. New orders coming through were prioritised over customers waiting on store, so we'd be pushed further down the queue.The customer facing staff member could only be described as hating her life. She looked like she absolutely hated her job. No smile. Ignoring everyone in the shop. Customer service is not her calling maybe.There was a man who was in the store at the front of the queue when I entered, who walked out of the store after 15 minutes.The Manager came back from somewhere, his staff member joked "did you get lost?", Implying he'd gone for longer than expected leaving them shorter staffed.Once he was back, nothing improved. He had a little chat with a customer who he recognised, but other than that, no eye contact still with anyone else.I asked to speak to the manager quietly to the side once I'd reached the front. I didn't want to make a fuss, just let him know that I was put out by the lack of care and attention and then make my order.I started off with "I just wanted to give some feedback. I completely get that you're busy and you're short staffed, so the wait times are longer. However, I've waited 19 minutes, and no one has even made eye contact with me...". The manager cut me short and said "well we're busy".I asked "how busy are you that you can't look at people in a shop and give them a smile at any point over 19 minutes?"He interrupted me again "You can see yourself we're busy".I asked him "So you're saying that I am stupid then?"He stuttered "no, just it's busy..."At this point I told him "Listen, I just wanted to give some feedback quietly without a fuss, and make an order, but you clearly aren't interested in hearing me out..."He interrupted me again "well obviously I'm sorry for the wait, did you want to make an order?"At this point, I couldn't justify spending money here. "No thanks, don't worry about it"."Ok, cya" was his nonchalant response.I went to Manns up the road on Hamsey Green instead.With the long wait and grumpy looking young staff member, I probably would have given 3-4 stars if I had left a review. With the owners extremely poor handling of a complaint made by someone who was willing to spend money with them (and has done so many times in the past), it's 1 star and I will NEVER use them again.They are popular and busy, so I doubt that they'll miss my business, but I won't miss their customer service.

Best fish and chips in the area. Never disappoints. Really friendly staff too.

We ordered a small cod, large haddock, chips and sausage. Despite the haddock being large, it very small and had less fish in it than the small cod. They were both put in the fryer at the same time and cooked together, as such the haddock was very over cooked, dry and the batter far to crunchy. Chips were great though!
