We stayed for couple of nights, the rooms were very comfortable and clean. Breakfast was delicious, fish and chips yummy.Staff were friendly and the garden was gorgeous esp as the weather was good.Small thing but no biscuits in the room lolWe had such a lovely stay though

I've been here a few times for food/drinks and the quality has always been great. Very accommodating during the pandemic/with sensible restrictions and changes (table service outside was a great addition).Good menu with a good selection. I'm sticking with the five stars but I would say often the service can be slow - which might suit people but I would definitely keep that in mind when making a booking! Never been a problem but something to watch out for.

Had our Mothers Day meal today. Staff were very helpful and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. Food was good, cocktails were amazing. Very nice relaxed atmosphere, will be back. Thank you for making it a lovely occasion with my family.

Amazing. The room was perfect and so comfortable. The staff were excellent and greeted us with a smile and had sorted the extra requested when I booked the room. It was a perfect night and we will be staying again for sure. Breakfast was delivered quickly and was tasty and cooked perfectly. Thanks to all here for making it a perfect stay.

Food was tasty however I felt like there wasn't much variety on the menu compared to my visit last year, and there were quite a few things unavailable. Would of liked to see some more pub classics. It was rather loud where we was sitting, we was only a party of 3 sat near 2 parties of 5+. We were placed near the door to the hotel so repeatedly had a draft as people came in and out, was also able to hear the staff discussing issues amongst themselves. Waited a while for second round of drinks, they came out after pudding although was ordered before, think there was a bit of miscommunication as different servers served us.

What happened… new ownership!!Just came back from a meal with family. From the start service was slow and not attentive to say the least.Did not have drinks on the menu, waitress did not know the menu so couldn’t answer any questions. When food finally arrived, chips were cold, steak undercooked and sons veg was rotten.I would of complained to server but from when meal arrived to we finished no one was available to complain too, hence only having one drink. When we got the bill there was also some additions which we did not order, so had to wait longer to have this changed.Once paid, we wasn’t even asked how food was or even said goodbye too as we left.To add insult to injury it wasn’t even that busy, but there were 3 waitresses at the bar folding napkins.Such a shame, been going here for years… lovely location, lovely staff and lovely food all in the past now. Better off going to your local wheatherspoons

We were sat in a booth around a corner, and almost felt forgotten about. The time between ordering and drinks or food arriving felt much longer than it should have for how busy the restaurant was, and on a few occasions we had asked for more water and this never came, despite asking for again. One person in our groups food was cold, but never had the opportunity to raise their concerns to the team. Overall we felt that customer service didn't feel like a priority and for a meal of four to last over 2.5 hours, we felt, was pretty shocking, whilst we've enjoyed the quality of food and drinks from here before, from this occasion, we won't be returning

In the past we had heard good reviews on this place so we thought we would give it a try.I wouldn't bother going back if I'm honest. Service was ok. Waitress very sweet however the quality of food let's this place down.We ordered steak medium no sauce just steak and fries. The steak was so rare could only eat around the edges. It had sauce on the side with a mushroom, the sauce was so hot. When we were asked how the food was and we said the steak isn't nice and we asked for no sauce they just scrapped the sauce off the plate. The pasta dish was watery and tasteless. I think Iceland do a better dish for just under ÂŁ2. The man didn't really want to know or put things right just carried on cleaning the table. Not good value for money, and a real disappointment. Wouldn't recommend and won't return. Shame there is no customer care.

I've stayed here twice a week for a few months now for work. Run by great staff who are friendly and care about their customers. Food is great value for money too! Rooms are decent and breakfast is great. Can't really fault them at all. Great service

My wife and i came to the curious pig as we have recently moved to the area. The food was very nice. The staff were very helpful and well trained. I honestly couldn't fault my visit and would definitely go again. The price is avarage for a pub like this and the food provided. Not a cheap meal but very nice.At the time of our visit we had to follow the covid 19 rules. They were clearly posted everywhere. All details were taken and was still a very good atmosphere.Would recommend!
