Had some lovely lunches and dinners here lately since the new management. Decided to try it for the Sunday roast. It was absolutely spot on, choice of chicken, lamb, pork and roast beef. Meat potions are generous, the vegetables were fresh and the roast potatoes were lightly and fluffy on the inside and crispy on the outside. The staff were very attentive, friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this pub for dinner, lunch or evening meal.

Nice pub in lovely location. Great looking menu, I had trouble choosing! Went for a burger in the end, absolutely delicious. Dog friendly too (bar area and outside seating only) so a good place to stop with a hungry hound!

We came here for a late lunch after a friend said the food here was excellent. Service was a bit slow, it felt like a long wait until our order was taken.Smoked haddock pate was lovely. Accompanying chutney wasn't and didn't get eaten.Burgers were very nice but the amount of cheese in the cheeseburger and Stilton in the blue burger was rather meagre and could barely be tasted. Was surprised not to be asked how I wanted burger cooked, normally expect a choice of medium or well done but without being asked it was perfect.Tried the 4 dessert platter. One was unavailable so two of one given. The crumble was very nice but the piece of sticky toffee pudding was about half the size of my thumb and as it was advertised as "suitable for sharing" with less than a teaspoon each this seemed a bit of a stretch.Baileys Hot chocolate was a nice end to meal. The decor was odd. Pictures clearly taken down as holes in walls and lights still present. Painted stone wall was just ugly.Overall it was okay but a few tweaks here and there could make it much better.

I have been to this pub many many times. They have good menu, very friendly staff (I recognise some of them by face now, they are super interested in giving you a good service) . Nice drinks, cosy ambiance and tasty food.

I'm disappointed.I came in two Sundays ago for the first time in a while for a family lunch. I have absolutely no complaints about the food as this was very nice, however the presentation of food and the service we received was disappointing.Staff were moody and seemed as though they didn't want to be there, they were very heavy handed when placing plates on the table, and almost dropped chocolate sauce on one of us; a waiter also proceeded to scrape plates in front of us.We were rushed to leave the table and pressured into leaving a tip even though we still had 20 minutes left on the table.Overall this experience has completely deterred me from retuning, which is a shame as I used to enjoy coming here.

Disappointing visit on Sunday. This used to be our "go to" venue of choice but not any more.Food was of high quality, but hardly any vegetables served with the roast dinner. Service was appalling, unfriendly to the point of being hostile. The plates were practically dropped onto the table in front of us, and when collected they were scraped at the table in front of us.When given the bill the staff member was pushy about electronic tips and hovered by our shoulder watching to see if we were going to tip or not.We knew at the point of booking that the table was ours for 2 hours, however with over 40 minutes left, as we were finishing our drinks we overheard one staff member telling another "We are just waiting for them to leave" even though there were empty tables in the restaurant so clearly not actually waiting for our table. 10 minutes later a member of staff came and told us that she had forgotten to let us know when we were seated that we only had limited time and the table was needed in 30 minutes. We were made to feel so unwelcome that it had the desired effect, we finished our drinks, left and will not be returning again!

Lovely little pub with wonderful staff and delicious food. New to the area and my parents wanted a traditional pub; from the dogs in the bar to the hearty food and log fire, ticked all the boxes. They were impressed and I think I’ve found my new local! Thank you guys

Nice pub with reasonably priced food and good service. Reasonable selection of beers and ciders. There is also a good sized car park for easy parking.

·

Lovely pub, stopped in our dog walks. The dogs were made very welcome and were given a drink of water immediately. We had a couple of pints and they were perfect. A nice atmosphere and the food smelt good although we didn't eat.

Only outside dining was open when we went due to Covid. Nice place to sit with friends and enjoy ur food. Some seats are directly under sun, other places are still good to sit (we didnt sit under the sun directly and still felt good).Food is very good. Nice vegetarian options. You have good amount of parking space too.
