Bear and Ragged Staff in Test Valley

Perhaps our party made the wrong food choices. Plenty on the menu, other than the burger and lasagne which were both a bit disappointing. A shame because it looked quite nice. However, I am open to returning to try other stuff. Pleasant to be in. Warning - Triple cooked chips.

Excellent lunchtime again only had starters and sides but lovely, Excellent service too

We had pork roast but we believe crackling was actually pork scratchings, which was a shame. However, it was a pleasant meal and polite staff. I was very disappointed to see a child of maybe 5 years or so perched up on the bar with, I presume, his father. Should a member of staff not have politely suggested that the bar was not a place for a small child to sit?

Food took an hour to come out when not busy. Although the food was good we had to get dessert in take away tubs due to the further 45 minutes delay after the main meal was finished. Very poor service. Don't worry when my wife took the table upon arrival the lady sorting out the tables happily talked to us while simultaneously showing us how she chewed her food!Would not reccomend. Very expensive restaurant where we had to take half the meal home due to massive delay. Poor service at £100 for 2 adults and 3 kids and all was ordered was burger and chips all around. MASSIVE LET DOWN.

Service was very slow despite the restaurant being partially empty. We had to remind the waiting staff that we were waiting for menus and to order drinks. Food was very well presented and served hot and quickly and the prices were fair. I would return

We eat at the Bear and Ragged Staff 2 plus times a month as we like the space between customers and the quality of the food. Unfortunately the price of the meals has been increasing while the quantity and quality has gone slightly in reverse.We also have a question to the kitchen, why use crushed strangely minted garden peas as a substitute for mushy peas?

A very cozy pub with friendly staff! The atmosphere is great and it's very clean. Had a Sunday roast and it was lovely! Would definitely recommend the beef out of the three meats available 👌

Had another delicious meal and excellent service. Had a family Christmas dinner on Friday, everything was absolutely perfect. Lilly our waitress could not of done any more, sadly she's leaving for another pub soon, but she's been an asset to the bear and ragged staff while she was there

Lovely, traditional looking pub and a delicious, fresh cooked Sunday roast - the beef was rare, just how I like it. Good service too. Will be back 😁

Arrived early lunch , sat outside as such a beautiful day . Ordered rare roast beef sandwich with triple cooked chips , best sandwich I've had out for a longtime . And the pineapple upsidedown cake was accompanied with coconut icecream , but sadly no glacé cherry in the middle of the pineapple ring . Really lovely relaxed lunch , would recommend definitely. 🥛🥩🍟🍍🥥
