"Make The Chalkhill Blue your new favourite place to eat out in Andover. A convivial atmosphere, lovely food and an extensive drinks menu make us the perfect place for impromptu lunches and special occasions. Take a stroll out to the beer garden. There, you’ll discover a fabulous covered terrace with a modern stone fireplace, giant bulb lightshades, planters, and fairy lights. It’s relaxed in the afternoon and spellbinding in the evening. Tender and crispy farm-assured rotisserie chicken is the jewel in our crown. And we offer a number of exciting variation dishes. You’ll find plenty of alternative plates on the menu, as well as tasty meat-free options. Families are most welcome at The Chalkhill Blue."

Our experience at chalk hill blue was friendly, warm and welcoming from the moment we set foot through the door. Lydia, our server, was very informative and executed her server duties to a high standard. Lydia was professional, patient and polite with good knowledge of the menu. The food was fantastic, it came out piping hot and fresh with lots of flavour and generous portion sizes. The pudding was also well presented and everything came out within a good amount of time. The premises was cl an, warm and open.

Even though they were under staffed that day, they were excellent. Quick and speedy service. They catered to my son's milk allergy and were all round really friendly. The establishment itself was very well presented and had a good child's play area. Will be visiting again!

Overall good price for food and drinks. However Steak was over cooked. The staff were superb - Tracey was our main waitress and was very welcoming. If the food was as good as the staff then it would be a 5* review.

The lady who greeted us was polite, I didn't catch her name but she is pregnant and is super friendly. Sam was our waiter, he was great, interactive and for a young lad made a lasting impression. He was happy and didn't just read from a script.

Really loathed to leave this review because the staff are genuinely lovely people, friendly, and accommodating, but unfortunately it's mainly style over substance. The furnishings and decor are gorgeously rustic and it lulls you into thinking you're in for a comforting, indulgent, home cooked experience but the reality is that the food appears to be low quality, chain style, reheated food.We went at a time when a table of 28 were there for a birthday party, and a family of 12 were arriving at the same time. The kitchen and staff placed all their efforts onto these two tables, which left us a little neglected and forgotten about. We asked for our food to all arrive at the same time, as it was only my son having a kid's starter, and despite saying no problem, his garlic bread came out as a starter. It then took about 20 minutes for anyone to notice he'd finish and arrange the mains, which took another 30 minutes to arrive. My daughter loved her buttermilk chicken burger but didn't like the processed cheese slice that came with it. My bacon cheeseburger was awful. The meat was dry and seemed like a frozen patty reheated rather than a freshly prepared one; the bacon was not streaky bacon so wasn't crispy, there was little to no burger sauce on it, and the bun disintegrated the moment I picked it up. Again, the processed cheese slice was disappointing to see.We then ordered my son's dessert and after half an hour of waiting, we had to chase. Rather than admitting that in the chaos in the kitchen, it had been forgotten about, an excuse was made up that simply wasn't true. Credit where credit is due though, the dessert was discounted from the bill afterwards. It's a real shame because it has all the promise of a really lovely place to go, but it's all style over substance.

Great place. The staff are lovely, service great, food good too. Reasonably priced. Good atmosphere. Good range of options eg vegan and kids menu. I wasn't in love with the vegan burger, but I think that is just personal preference. Sweet potato fries and onion rings tasty. Husband's lasagne was very good and kids enjoyed their meals.

Great place for a meal! Food is delicious, service is fast and our server (Chloe) was friendly, bubbly and made us feel welcome. Would highly recommend, ample car parking available with EV charge points and the outside of the building looks inviting.
