Fished Dandys for the first time on Saturday on Kingfisher (snake lake). John (owner) very helpful, and made sure I was having a good day. Using match fishing tactics caught well and consistently throughout with 4 largish (5lb+ carp) landed - and another 2 that got away, smaller carp, F1s, Crucians, Roach and Skimmers.Very tranquil, beautiful surroundings, hoping at some point to be there when the tea lodge is open for some food. I'll certainly be back.

Fish are quite small in the main lake. Woman who collected the money wasn't the friendliest but it is a pretty lake.

·

Fabulous lakes, very picturesque and plenty of carp.

Quit, relaxing, good fishing. You could not ask for a better day out

Beautiful place. Decent cup of tea

A new holiday lodge on the lake is absolutely fabulous, fully fitted with all facilities and quality fixtures and fittings. The lodge comes with exclusive use of several fishing pontoons and a large decking where you can sit with a beer or glass or two of wine and watch nature at it's best. You don't need to be interested in fishing to stay in this wonderfuly located lodge, in fact I would love to live here permanently if it was possible!

Superb fishery. Very attractive and established lakes with an abundance of natural wildlife. I saw a Kingfisher within 5 minutes of arriving.I spent the day on Calvert Lake (The Match Lake) with the kids and they were catching fish from the moment we arrived to packing up time.Highly recommended!

very attractive and well maintained fishery, plenty of fish and some interesting wildlife, including kingfishers and grass snakes which can sometimes be seen swimming in the lakes. I fished Lodge Lake today had about ten carp from 3lbs with the best pair just topping 10lbs, a small barbel and a couple of crucians. The fish fight very hard and the carp are attractive-they will be stunning when they grow on a bit.I fished from the Lodge bank which has a small island only about 10 yards out and some denseclumps of lilies. This is the nearest thing I have to a criticism, because it is very hard indeed to stop the better fish burying themselves in the pads and becoming immovable. I probably lost half a dozen to hook pulls and once to a broken hooklength, and I was far from being alone. Of course the pads are a major fish holding feature and I certainly would not want them removed entirely. I guess I had the worst of the midsummer growth and they are probably less of a problem most of the year.Carp oriented anglers should note the fishery rules include a ban on boilies, barbed hooks, and any hook bigger than a 10. Also no floaters are allowed, a bit frustrating when there are fish very obviously on the top! Pellet, corn, and meat all catch. There were huge numbers of tiny silvers in my swim so I would expect maggot or bread to be impractical, at least till the temperature drops and they become less piranha-like!
