Such a cute little tearoom for locals and visitors, such as myself. Inside is cosy and friendly and outside (when it's dry) is situated alongside a stream, which is beautiful.Whether it's just a pot of tea or a lunch, it's a great place to just take a break and chill.

The staff aren't overly friendly or attentive, the decor is tired and in places dilapidated. The crockery seems not very clean. Cutlery was missing and finally the food was mediocre at best. We shall not be returning and wouldn't recommend. Such a shame.

Dated interior crying out for a refresh... decor trying to be “twee” but doesn’t make you feel cosy. Staff were teenagers wanting a little weekend job; they didn’t particularly care about being there, phones were out and audibly gossiping about being a “bit hungover” in their downtime. Waited like lemons to be seated and eventually asked someone after being repeatedly walked past. Teen staff had ageing festival wristbands... Casual is fine (I wore wristbands for years myself, but working in retail where there is no food handling!) but in the interests of food safety I’m surprised they are allowed. A slightly more presentable dress code might help. Fish pie was so-so and vegetables were just supermarket frozen ones.

Don’t be fooled by all the people in there, it’s not because of the popularity, everybody is waiting for their food (have to say, the owner came back to our table that it would take another 15 minutes). Food was not that bad, but the place needs a makeover and a change of staff.

Very nice choice of teas. Along the river, in a narrow street leading to the Marsh. Good scones with Jam and double cream ! That s what I came for !

I've been to this lovely place twice this year. I come up here for work. I had a great experience on the first visit, that I was looking forward to visiting again for afternoon tea. Its cosy, warm and lovely atmosphere. I was seated as soon as I walked in, and served within 5 minutes, very yummy scones with lots of clotted cream (yum). I found the staff friendly and welcoming. The menu had a good variety of food for reasonable prices. I recommend it and will be back next time I'm in the area.

Lovely smooth coffee served in a cafetiere , perfect combination of soft and crumbly scones with just the right amount of jam and clotted cream. Smoothies are lovely fresh and you get a good choice. Would definitely recommend as we will be stopping here again when we next drive through.

Very disappointed in my recent visit to Lillies, i have been here on numerous occassions, and the staff and food have always been very good. On this occassion it was a big let down. It took awhile for our order to be taken, thank goodness we ordered our drinks at the same time as our food. It then took forever for the food come, and all the staff just avoided looking at you when you tried to get their attention. Even though what looked like the owner avoided us, it was the youngest memeber of staff who asked us if we were still waiting on food. We said yes we were, and we had ordered another drink from one of the young girls, which never came. He apologised and asked if we had been told there was a problem in the kitchen when we were seated, unfortunately we had not. It started raining, and the owner just seemed to be more concerned about trying to seat patrons from outside to inside, and we were asked to move to another table. Another patron was overcharged, and everyone seemed to be waiting on either food or their bill to pay. Food eventually came, but it was cold, so clearly had been stood in the kitchen for awhile. Very disappointed and will not be going back.

We were looking for a nice tearoom to order some hearty food and drinks. On a rare day off we have together as a family. We drove for 15 minutes after looking up near by tea rooms on google. Well I throughly do not recommend this venue. We were greeted hastily without a smile , shown to a dirty table that no one offered to clean. Ordered drinks that were brought out in filthy glasses. Food and drink were below average quality. Certainly does not match the price on the menu. Very disappointing. Please not don't waste your time or money visiting.

Visited here for some refreshment on a Saturday afternoon. Had to wait 5 minutes or so to be seated as it was pretty busy, which is a good sign I guess. There is a small waiting area with seating so I guess this is a common occurrence.Once inside, the atmosphere is genteel and relaxed, as you would expect of an English tearoom. We only had the cream tea so cannot really comment on the rest of the menu but the chap at the next table had steak and kidney pudding and it looked and smelt lovely.I thought the prices seemed very reasonable especially as there was two scones with the cream tea. Not enough cream though...but there's never enough cream for me :-D
