Lucky 8 in Test Valley

Just moved around corner from lucky 8 so I thought I would try a take away..ordered sweet n sour chicken and the house special rice..well when I got home I opened the trays to find the sweet n sour but I got someone king prawn chow mein..no rice! Won't be going to my local Chinese again! Food was average and nothing special.

Had a really bad experience a couple of years ago but since trying again it seems that they have stepped up there game and have improved dramatically. Lovely little place love the fish and chips and the Chinese. Staff seemed friendly. Would highly recommend

I went to lucky8 many years ago and it was bad so we thought with the new management and reviews we would go again, we ordered a few bags of chips, and they were the worst hard stale chips, they looked like they were cooked a week ago and re-heated. it really was the worst chips we have ever had, they went straight into bin, waste of money tried calling them, but they told me the owner was busy and to try later!! I tried later and no one answered (8:50pm)I though maybe this was a one off, and I always give restaurants a second chance, so I went two weeks later and ordered chips again and even asked the lady serving "Are these fresh" and explained about my previous visit, to which she laughed and said yes they are, again the worst chips I have ever had. I wish I could give 0 stars, I read on other reviews that the owner mentioned to ring them before putting up review, I tried calling 6 times!!! over 5 days, either they never answered calls or told me the owner is busy and to call when they are quiet, which I did. I really had high hopes for Lucky 8 especially as we spend a fortune on Chinese food in a excellent restaurant much further away (which does great Chips), so Lucky 8 would have been very convenient for us, but sadly having had two bad experience with something basic as chips has put me off. in my experience this could likely mean they are cutting corners with other dishes.

Dispite being refused Scottish Money, food was amazing, fresh & tasty. Quick service, would recommend.

I actually don't mind this place as a Chinese but my wife has bought home fish and chips tonight and it was disgusting..absolutely inedible and I would not even give it to the dog it was that poor ...through the whole lot in the bin ...never again

Top notch food but be warned they have a stupidly high card payment limit of £12. Totally unnecessary, especially as we are living in a contact less payment age. They need to put a sign up to prevent people wasting their time in the queue.

staying in the premier inn around the corner during lockdown 2 and everywhere is shut. I got a fish n chips from here and it was excellent, it was the best fish n chip I have had in years. If you're in the area give it a go.

Lovely clean inside and food was amazing. Really enjoyed a nice chicken curry as local one closed and been hard finding a replacement.. Until now. Thank you.

Horrible everything don't know what's worse the fish and chips or the Chinese, fish cake tastes of chemicals almost really dirty and the meat of the sausage was some of the worst quality I have ever seen in a chippy, I don't expect amazingly high quality but this was just rank, the Chinese is always awful tastes unseasoned under or over cooked bad quality meat again, really quite baffled by how this place is still open, don't know how they receive any return custom. My mistake as I have returned now a couple of times hoping for better, but it's just all pretty diagusting, tonight was the last, sorry but need to be told if they think what they serve is good enough!!

Always been perfect for me, Chinese or fish & chips. It was such a pleasant surprise when I first tried this place as I'm normally suspicious of anywhere that does 2 different types of takeaways, coz I assume it affects the quality, but both are always prompt and delicious. I've had Chinese & fish & chips from here about 10 times each over the last year! Just be aware it's collection only. I highly recommend, especially the salt & pepper chicken wings.
