I have to mark this quaint little tea room down only because it isn't dog friendly, not even outside in the garden! Visited with my elderly father who cannot walk far, and the family doggy. Turned away because nowhere for the pooch. Not happy and not in keeping with what you might expect from a country market town

Absolutely wonderful! Such a beautiful place and we were treated like royalty! 5 star host! The atmosphere here was incredible, the nicest, happiest, tasiest lunch ive had in years. Thankyou so so much for a wonderful experience. Highly recommend and see you soon!

Tea cups, teapots, scones or toasted tea cakes.....a wonderful slice of English traditions ...served up in a building bursting at the seams with stories and history. The staff are wonderful and make most of the cakes and scones......long may it always be so please....and thank you!!!! 🤗🙏

Lovely little cafe inside a museum. Lovely food at a very reasonable price and the profits help maintain the museum.

Tucked away and easily missed, this little tea room is housed in part of King John's House (or Hunting Box). Lovely afternoon tea served in charming surroundings. Gorgeous cakes, traditional scones and cream, as well as a varied menu of light meals and sandwiches.

·

Peaceful beautiful gardens. Shared a pot of tea, all served in china, with my parents and had a tasty tea cake to go with it. Friendly staff who helped me with a wheelchair. Would recommend.

I use to love this place but on the 2 recent visits I've been there. It was very disappointing. I had a cream tea on both accounts and both times the scone didn't seem that fresh, quite dry and hard. Last time I visited I was with a friend. She had a slice of battenberg cake and told me, it wasn't very nice and again not fresh. Such a shame

Having booked a table for 6 about 2 weeks ago for lunch specifically requesting indoor table disappointed to be told on arrival that the room inside had been booked by another party of 12!! The jacket potatoes were excellent but occasion spoilt by the sun as we all couldn't get under the parasol.

Lovely quite place to enjoy cup of coffee and cake in the garden. Friendly and efficient service and all covid 19 precautions taken. Some tables indoors or under cover if the weather is not so good.
