The Cleveland Bay in Test Valley

Met with friends for lunch, seemed to be short of staff, after a while we asked to order but only then told to order at the bar. Delicious lunch of haddock fishcakes with a poached egg on a bed of leeks, and a creamy hollandaise sauce. Service quite slow but very friendly man serving us

Excellent pub, great beer (the 6X was the best I've had for a long time), great food and great service, highly recommended, we will definitely return very soon.

Good value and quality Sunday roast, well kept beer. Excellent family friendly environment (visit was early afternoon).

Went for drinks, lovely place, nice atmosphere, friendly staff who came to the table to take orders with good timing, so must have had that awareness. Felt very safe regarding covid processes.

Christmas meal with work colleagues. The food was so good, attention to gluten free meal spot on, service great. Managing the booking was stressfree. Highly recommended - especially the chocolate brownie

Nice pub, we only stopped for a drink. Has a few real ales on tap. Staff seem friendly and welcoming. Was not too busy for a Sunday afternoon.

Absolutely disgraceful service from the kitchen, very poorly staffed. One girl only serving the whole restaurant is unbelievable. Than you have 2 blokes behind the bar chatting and cleaning 3 glasses. Unbelievable. We made our order at 1835 and the food was out at 1935. At 1955 we have asked for the desert which was two scoops of ice-cream, nothing fancy and it was brought at 2015 after 2 complaints. Certainly not recommended

Best Calamari I've EVER had!!!!!Scampi & chips special was also delicious.Lovely venue. Lots of indoor & outdoor seating. Bar staff were so welcoming, friendly and attentive.Food well priced.Feedback: Totally understaffed, however, I leave this comment as a compliment for the staff who were serving. They absolutely did their best and worked their butts off. Not enough parking for the size of the venue.I'm from Northumberland but visit family in the local area so will 100% visit again and would 100% recommend.

All the staff were all very friendly & so attentive.What I had for meal was a nut roast & it was really tasty & all the vegetables were all fresh.The atmosphere is absolutely amazing in a peaceful surroundings.If you got children there's some play equipment that they can use & grassy area.I like it here as you can bring your dogs.There's also a very spacious outside undercover sitting area.This is my second visit & I would certainly go back for a meal.

First time out after lockdown, service was good, managed to bag a table in the sun but out of the wind with a good view of the play area. My boy had a great time and my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed a drink and dinner. No problems, excellent friendly staff, will definitely go again - if we can book a table of course!!
