Well kept real ale & very fresh, local food. Between two of us we had a crab salad & fresh Test Valley trout to die for. The best that I have ever tasted....

From the outside the pub is stunning. They market themselves as a "gastro pub" but truth be told its just a traditional pub. Walking in they had put a large screen tv on the bar with all the locals crowded round it watching football. My wife and I were out for a nice romantic meal. It wasn't that romantic being 3 feet away from a crowd watching a football match. The locals also let there kids run riot to the point I had to run out side the pub on my way to the toilet to stop a very young toddler running away. The food was average and the waiter just circled the few tables constantly so felt like he was watching us eat. Parking is limited too. Overall we were exstreamly underwhelmed by the pub. If its a pub call it a pub don't try to be a gasro pub if you are not.

I have been here a few times now and always enjoy it. Such a cosy little pub/place to eat in a peacefull area. I'd recommend booking ahead by phone to check they have a table as it would be a shame to not get one.The special deal on a certain day (I don't remember which day) for steak and wine was one of my favourites, if you go when it isn't on, be sure to ask and consider going back for it :) The food is so good here!

Fabulous food. Great village pub atmosphere, welcoming and homely. Well-deserving of their Good Food Guide entry. Keep up the good work!

My friend and I went on a Monday evening and decided to partake in the Steak evening menu, £35 which included 2 steaks with Portobello mushroom and tomotoes, chips and a bottle of wine, red/white/rose. There was a choice of sirloin, fillet or T/bone (£4 extra). The food was great and the wine was excellent ( nice surprise) . Highly recommended.

Friendly service, excellent food and great real ale with 3 or 4 to choose from. Ate outside, plenty of space and good atmosphere for a Thursday evening.Impressed with their take away service all through lock down too. Spot on!

Beautiful location. Great beer garden and a good selection of ales. The menu was good and prices reasonable. I dropped to 4 stars as there was a long wait for food and our baked in parchment fish was overcooked
