Just had the most amazing day and evening at The Mill Arms celebrating Aaron and Shona 's wedding. All of the hard working staff looked after us all beautifully. The service and food was excellent and nothing was too much trouble.... Right to the very end of the day. Xxx thank you all very much and congratulations to Mr and Mrs AWESOME LAWSON... XXX

Fantastic food and good portion sizes. Very polite staff, not to mention the lovely view of the train station.

The Mill Arms Sunday roast is excellent. I like the fact they give you the choice of one, two or three meats plus a vegetarian option. It was a very good portion too. For dessert I had the chocolate chip and brioche bread and butter pudding - say no more! A lovely pub, great service and superb food. But pre-book!

Having spent a couple of hours at the nearby National Trust site 'Mottisfont' we visited the pub for lunch. The Friday special was Chip Shop based and we chose cod and chips (with peas) for 2 (£16) which we thought was good value. We were not disappointed. The fish was large (but not oversized) The batter was light and crispy, the cod inside was thick and white but which 'flaked' nicely. There wasn't a trace of sogginess. The chips were of the larger size and cooked to perfection. The staff were friendly and attentive and the ambience was very nice. Although Covid restrictions are (at the time of the visit) relaxed, nevertheless there was plenty of room between tables and lots of signage, antbac etc. Toilets were clean and bright. It was a warm day, but I imagine the room with the wood burner would be very cosy on a cold day. The whole place was light and airy but still managed to pull off an olde worldly charm. If you want an overpriced gastro pub, I suggest you look elsewhere but if you love a friendly traditional pub with good food at a fair price then look no further. There is a decent off road car park and a lovely view! What's not to like! PD

Great place to come if you're cycling along the wonderful lanes through Lockerly, West Dean and East and West Tytherly. I dropped in because I was cycling and it was such a cold day that my feet were becoming numb. I was able to warm myself by their wood-burning stove. I also enjoyed some real ale, served by the friendly staff. The Mill Arms has accommodation. I stayed there once to break my walk to Salisbury midway. I had no complaints that time either with the room, the meals or the staff. The pub is directly opposite Mottisfont and Dunbridge railway station, so you could get here by train.

We booked a family Xmas gathering in the skittles alley and it was perfect. Friendly staff, great service and the buffet was yummy. The cost for the buffet was good value and we were made to feel very welcome, I would highly recommend.

This is an excellent venue Food is top quality and reasonably priced...Good portion sizes. Accommodation also good vale for the area, but do ring first as it does often get fully booked. Staff and owners are welcoming and friendly, looking forward to my next visit. The skittles alley is a bonus, the room can be hired for just £50.00 for 4 hrs which is usually enough time to enjoy several games and lapp up the delicious food.

I visited the Mill Arms on Sunday 29 August 2021 at lunchtime, a weekend during the school summer holidays, before going for a lovely walk at Mottisfont (National Trust). I was with one other person. This was my first visit. I used Google Maps to find the pub, which was easy and led me straight to the right place. I booked a table ahead of my visit. The Mill Arms was recommended to me by a friend who lives near this area.I parked in the car park - parking was easy. The restaurant comprises of a number of different dining areas with plenty of tables with full table service. The team were very friendly and welcoming and I had no issues - we got everything we expected in good time and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.I enjoyed a Chilli with rice and garlic bread, all included. The food arrived hot, was well presented and tasted really good. There was a good selection of food and I found something that appealed to me easily. The food was very good value for money, I paid around £15 for the one main course and a drink.Overall I really enjoyed my visit and would definitely come and visit again.

The Mill Arms sits deep in the heart of the Test Valley in Hampshire. The location offers a tranquil respite from the everyday hustle and bustle, with beautiful chalk streams and lush landscape set as its backdrop. The pub itself is utterly charming and offers a traditional drinking/dining experience. The staff are super friendly and helpful. The garden is particularly pretty to sit in and the food is absolutely delicious. We chose steak and pan fried chicken for mains, which offered brilliant value for money alongside great taste. The accommodation at The Mill Arms is delightful, with clean and practical country room decor. There’s plenty of choice at breakfast and their Full English certainly set us up for the day.Be sure to book yourself a stay here, as I highly recommend it!
