Nice town centre pub with friendly staff, don't be put off by the door staff, they are friendly and probably contribute to keeping this a nice pub

I have always 5* this pub but unfortunately due to a new staff member. I have chosen never to go there again, shame as it was my go to but will never spend a penny there again. Thanks for you previous service as it was great. See ya later guys. BYE!!!

Not good. Visited once for a friend's 60th birthday party. I was one of the youngest at 57y.o. We were just a few ol' bikers, grateful to be able to meet up after such a long time (covid). When we left at the end of the evening, upon returning to the hotel, we were surrounded by police, who had been informed that driver was drinking and driving! WRONG!! Designated drivers tend not to!! No arrests profuse apologies from the police, who said they would be having words with over zealous door staff. Totally ruined the evening. Thanks phoenix. Won't be going there again!!

Such a good night until my disabled friend was accused of taking drugs and drink driving..none where found to be true and more so the police did the appropriate test and after the negative result they understood why we were frustrated

A very friendly bar with good food and courteous staff. Would recommend.

Standard pub. Nothing wrong with it, nothing great about it. Got the food order wrong a couple of times and the macaroni cheese is awful, but it is what it is and that is not a restaurant.

·

Well really impressed. Food was excellent and James our server was a absolute star. Dog friendly as well.

Popped in yesterday and what a lovely place. Very friendly staff, nice ambience, good beer and it was pie and pint day so kept getting better.

Update December 21I really enjoy going into this pub, the bar staff are really friendly and give the sort of welcome only given to regulars. My one and only thing is that the games area is really noisy and loads of shouting as the evening goes on, add that to the music and it really isn't a pub for a chat. Great fun if you are with a bunch of friends but if you want a quiet drink and a private chat then this may not be the best place. The one area of the pub that is a bit more peaceful is right by the, very, smelly toilets and no way I could sit there!2018This used to be the sort of pub I wouldn't go into but they have really turned it around. Now it is a lively, friendly place that attracts a much different clientele. Great gin selection, good wines and beers. I have not eaten here but people, whose opinion I trust, i know have and they say it is great. I will try the good very soon I hope.

Me and my partner had breakfast here today, as soon as we stepped through the door we were asked to fill in the track and trace.. The staff are so friendly and there is plenty hand sanitizer available around the pub.I also run my finger along all the ledges to see how clean and safe the pub was and it was gleaming sorry I'm a cleaner 😂 and also want to stay safe with covid! We had breakfast was absolutely delicious! All pipping hot and all staff seem happy in there job. I just wish I lived closer to i would definitely visit more often! The pub is very pleasant and cosy.. Thank you to all the staff for a lovely experience
