A beautiful location and a beautiful building, the thatched roof is a real feature. The bar and restaurant are welcoming and well decorated, the food was lovely and well presented. Beth, on reception lovely and made us feel very welcome. While there was nothing "wrong" with the bedroom it was very tired, particularly the bathroom. But overall a very nice couple of nights stay and would happily return.

Room Quality = Very, very poor. The rooms are incredibly outdated by today’s standards. Additionally the mattresses don’t seem like they have been changed since the hotel first opened. The double bed was intact two single mattresses put together. The mattresses were sunk in the middle causing both me and my pregnant partner a bad nights sleep and bad back the following morning. This issue didn’t seem to be confined to our room either - at breakfast the next morning we overheard other couples having the same conversation; which made us feel a little better about our thoughts.Dinner quality = OK.Portion size is great but the meal didn’t taste fresh. It seemed as if the meal was cooked and left under the heat lamp for an extended period of time. As a result the meat tasted dry and chewy and the mash was a little cool for a meal that should have just been cooked.Breakfast quality = Extremely PoorIt’s worse than a premier inn, and a premier inn has better service with more cheerful staff serving the food. If you have stayed at a premier inn then you should know the standards I’m talking about.Would I stay here again? No. The only thing that this place has going for it is the location is good. In terms of a meal & nights sleep - I wouldn’t stay here again.

A lovely venue! The staff are friendly and there's a good choice of food and drink. It's beautifully decorated and suitable for everything from business meetings to groups of friends.

Really loved this place, the room was clean and very nice. The bed was comfy too! I had one very rude barman talk to me in a condescending tone when I asked which taxi firms were good to use. (He basically told me to just Google it). The rest of the staff were very pleasant and friendly.

We stayed for our wedding anniversary and had a lovely evening meal, the service was outstanding as the waiter was always checking on us and recommended a kiwi and lime cider which we enjoyed most of the weekend. We were greeted by a beautiful peacock very friendly and lovely restaurant area and room.

Worst Mother’s Day lunch ever - a Toby cavery would have been much better and half the price. Worst roast I have ever had. . Very disappointed in the whole experience, especially with it being fairly expensive.Dumped in the bar section and only the choice of a roast or 3 other items. The roast was £19.50 and when it came out I have never been more disappointed. The food was cold, the parsnips advertised were no where to be seen, no cauliflower cheese that was advertised and the vegetables mentioned on the menu turned out to be 4 small bits of carrots, 2 bits of broccoli and 2 bits of cauliflower. The potatoes were freezing and appeared under cooked. When we let staff know it was cold they bought it back and it appeared microwaved, Yorkshire puddings were still freezing and the cauliflower cheese that came out was ice cold.I have never had a worst roast in my whole life and for nearly £20 you are least expect the food to me warm and the get what it says on the menu. Toby cavery do a better roast and at least that is affordable.

Far better than reviews would show.Good meal of Chicken with mushroom linguine. Breakfast ample.Very clean room, good value. Comfy beds and important to me soft pillows.Staff friendly and always welcoming.Great value on deal.Tip.Adding BF to room on Booking com was plus £14 yet ordered on arrival £8. No view from room but as been out fishing in country all day no problem.Even chocolate in beverage offered in room. Most places stopped this.Only negative. No shampoo or B bath .

Beautiful location, very grand dinning area. Staff were pleasant and welcoming. Unfortunately only stopped for a drink so unable to review the food.Due to its location and average clientele the prices were a little above average but nothing outrageous. We went during mid day and so was very quite but I'm sure it would get busier in the evenings. Ideal location form significant events such as weddings etc.4.5 out of 5 as limited experience during visit
