Nice food and good service. Lovely garden!

I had such a lovely stay here! The staff were very helpful and accommodating to my early check in, taking my luggage up to my room for me while I dashed off to a wedding.Everyone was very friendly, and the food was delicious (I heartily recommend the mushroom omelette for breakfast!). I also had the Sunday lunch which was a real treat. The room itself was lovely and had so many thoughtful touches. From a glass jar of jellybeans to a carafe of water, and even bath salts and gel decanted into lovely jars in the bathroom, it was clear that a lot of care had gone into it.If I’m ever in the Stockbridge area again, I know where I’ll be staying!

Overall was good. Being a pub they didn't perhaps take into account that 8 rooms are there for people to sleep. I rang down at 10 to midnight as the noise in the restaurant was excessive, our room was above it. The ensuite was rather tired especially the shower which was not really satisfactory, going hot and cold without touching it. The food was good and staff friendly. Breakfast good too.

Great traditional pub with good food and beer. Friendly locals and lovely staff, I will definitely be back.

All good, can't comment on rooms as only had a couple of beers but that was a very pleasant experience.

·

Great food but terrible terrible service, attention, understanding and due care. Even with very polite chases still nothing with any apologies! Left no tip but paid full bill and didnt complain. No repeat business from us!

Been here a couple of times and both times have been pleasant, the perfect place to go after a nice nearby walk. A lovely beer garden with a stream running beside it, good service and nice beer. I'm looking forward to my next visit.

Lovely little country pub, serving home cooked favourites, great local beers and welcoming friendly locals and staff.

Lovely old building.Staff friendly but young girls obviously new to the job. Quite a long wait for food. I had chicken which looked barely cooked, possibly bought in and not free range! Rest of party had wild boar sausage and mash, grey sausages, mash not very hot. Bought in dessert , had to ask for cutlery to eat it with, just a spoon arrived, no fork. Friend requested a cappuccino and was given an Americano which was too strong to drink.Felt sorry for young staff doing their best with no help. They have to start somewhere but need some training. Disappointing as expected better in Stockbridge.

Unfortunately we had a very poor experience at this establishment. We stopped in on our way home and hoped to have a pleasant experience as we have a young baby and don’t often get to eat out anymore. We waited an hour for our lunch to arrive. Half way through the wait I was told it would be <10m, 20m later we were still waiting. I was then told we were next out, only to watch the same waitress bring out another tables food. We were in a bit of a rush by this point (not to mention very hungry). When it finally came the food was okay but there was no apology for how long we waited. I understand they were busy but it would have been better to have been advised of the wait time upon ordering so we could make a decision on if we were prepared to wait that long.
