Dog friendly carvery if you sit outside which is fine if the weather is good although I don't like being surrounded by smokers. Good value, tasty carvery. I haven't tried anything else on the menu as we go there when we're hungry and don't want to wait for our meal! Can recommend the jugs of Pimms.

Ate here a few years ago and had a fairly pleasant experience. Came back recently for a friend's birthday, the staff were friendly and vigilant, the carvery smelled great, the only thing I'm disappointed about is that I ordered a bowl of chips but they were really sub par. They got to the table more or less seconds after I returned from the bar to order them. They weren't red hot as if they were fresh out the fryer and to be honest, they were a little soggy. Not crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Made me wonder if perhaps they'd been sat on the side for a few minutes waiting for someone to order them. That said, I really wasn't very hungry so it wasn't a big deal. Towards the end of our visit our party felt very pushed to leave. We were repeatedly asked about puddings and getting them sooner rather than later. I know we had a booked slot but it was pretty empty because of the heatwave so it's not like they needed the seats, and they weren't closing either so not sure why the emphasis on us all getting pudding and leaving. Ended up sitting outside for another hour just so we'd stop being pestered. Over all, it wasn't a bad experience, I'd probably come again, but I don't think I'd book any party events.

amazing place! we came in for a meal last night and had a lovely dinner. we spoke to a really nice lady called rachael. she was really helpful with a member of our family who was gluten free! lovely atmosphere at this pub we will 100% return!!! thank you!

Good size portions. Pub nice and tidy. For some reason I was half way through my carvery before my gluten free gravy arrived . Alternative option was to. Let it go cold. This happened in a farmhouse inns pub in Worcestershire too. So at least they are consistent

Excellent carvery. Moist turkey roast. Delicious. Gravy on tap. We appreciated the gluten free menu. It would also have been good to know whether the gravy and cauliflower cheese were gluten free. Good service. Good value.

First time to visit as a friend bought us a Gift Card. The food was wonderful. Very tasty, hot and lots of it. Infact, almost more than we could eat. Definitely no room for ice cream. A lovely relaxing afternoon. We will be back for a coffee and a cake. The cakes looked delicious. Staff were friendly and helpful.

We had an ok experience here. The food was great, but the service left a lot to be desired. Staff at the bar would start talking to their colleagues right in the middle of a conversation which we found to be very rude. For the rest of the conversation he was only really interested in his female colleague talking to him, rather than continuing our order. Not so much of a glance in our direction even when we were talking. No one seemed that enthusiastic either, perhaps some hospitality training should be in order for your staff. The location was convenient though, and the interior was nicely decorated. There was a place for children to play too, which was nice. A perfectly average experience, but would have been improved by staff with a bit more manners.

Brilliantly run family-orientated pub. Staff are always welcoming, friendly and accommodating. The only downside is sometimes the carvery lacks plenty of fresh veg and sides. But a wonderful restaurant with both an indoor and outdoor kids play area for all ages that myself and my family love a trip to 😊

Visited today as was craving a carvery. Was so looking forward to going here as have never had bad food or service. Today though I was so very upset. We ordered via the app (as never have a problem!) and around 20 minutes later my husbands food arrived but still no drinks or carvery slip for my meal. Another 10 minutes later after asking 2 people they arrived. Husband was quarter the way through his meal. I then went to the carvery section and proceeded to wait another 10 minutes (and a waitress shouting for someone to come out for the Carvery twice plus a male waiter going back and forth to them also) for someone to appear. Was put off as he had a beanie hat on and not a normal servers hat, then the carvery meat was dry, veg was lukewarm, sauces empty and overall not very enjoyable. By the time I got to eat my dinner my husband had pretty much finished his. Overall today was an awful visit. Really very sad as we have never had this before and my in laws visit regularly for breakfast. I just hope this review gets taken on board.

I usually go early on a Sunday and the food is quite good, I've never had a problem with hard or overcooked veg as in other reviews. The service and variety of food on offer is not consistent, sometimes excellent and sometimes not. Chefs aren't usually ready by 11.30am and the last time we went my husband bought a large carvery to get more meat than the standard and was given 1 slice when usually the standard is 2 slices so we had to ask nicely for more. The gravy is thick and tasty and the dauphinoise potatoes are amazing (when they have them) and I don't have to cook and just want a very quick meal so I'm quite happy with it.
