Canterbury Bell in Thanet

Had a lovely lunch with family. Big group and everything was sent out in good time and nothing was missed. Great service and great food. Look forward to coming back again.

We visited the Canterbury bell today for the first time. The premises looked clean and inviting from the outside. When we got inside we were warmly greeted and taken to our table. Our waitress, Amy, was very polite, friendly and helpful. We ordered three courses and all dishes were very good. If I'm honest, I wasn't expecting great quality from a Marsden's pub but it was excellent. The pub was clean, the food was very good and reasonably priced and the staff very nice. I will definitely be back. A****

had prawns for a starter really nice sauce lovely fresh lettuce nice bread with butter , two of us had the lasagne also really good served piping hot with lovely warmed garlic bread ,our grandson had the vegan burger which he enjoyed , could do with a few more vegan options but a lot better than many places. Washed down with a pint of IPA and a glass of Rose .Service was good and pleasant food and drink were served at the correct temperatures . Did not like the music but that is a small thing and was not too loud so it intruded.

From when we arrived until we left the whole experience was really very good. Even though it was a busy lunchtime, we did not have to wait foreever to be served or were we rushed, which we have experienced in other venues. The two course lunch was excellent value for money and arrived hot which again does not always happen. The guy who served us was helpful and friendly. All in all a great experience which will make us go back and tell others about

Went for a family meal with mine and my partners parents. We did request a quiet table as we have people with hearing aids who struggle to hear everyone talk. It was an extremely busy Saturday night so we realised when we were seated that this wasn’t possible. There was a large birthday party next to us which obviously wasn’t ideal but it was fine. We still enjoyed our night and our food, was a lovely evening overall the staff were attentive and the service was quick and efficient.

We arrived and we’re taken to our table quickly. Our server was great and was available whenever we needed him. The food was delicious although the steak and ale pie i had had very tough pastry which spoiled the overall experience somewhat.

Couldn’t fault the staff they were lovely and the food was great. Breakfast was 10/10 The only criticism I have is the room was cold and we couldn’t sleep because if it. We woke up at 4.30 am unable to sleep. Did tell the staff who said they have a night porter who could have sorted it but, at 4.30 am you just need to try and get back to sleep you don’t want staff in your room sorting it out. Apart from this the stay was pleasant but this spoilt it to be fair

Food was great, service was impeccable by our waiter George. I made the manager aware of this and asked that our waiter was informed of my feedback. Tables were too close together for my liking especially as we are in the middle of a pandemic and I didn’t like the fact the people sitting next to us had a dog in there and was feeding it at the table next to us.

Great. Very impressed with the choice of vegan dishes on their menu. Pleasant atmosphere, nice interior and friendly staff. I really liked and appreciated their Mint Garden burger doesn't pretend to be a vegan meat replacement. Loved it and would have it again.

Really enjoyed our night staying at the Canterbury Bell lnn. The whole place, restaurant and rooms, are dog friendly. Dogs allowed in every room and dogs allowed throughout the restaurant/pub. Everything was clean and tidy, and staff in the pub were always on hand to answer questions.It was so convenient to keep the dog with us that we dined in the Canterbury Bell on one night and for breakfast the next morning.Food was really good, all of our meals were very nice. The breakfast was super with a good selection of bits. Great place.
