Smugglers Retreat Table Table in Thanet

The Smugglers Inn, it is what it is. A no thrills pub/restaurant with basic pub grub. However the staff are friendly the food arrives on time and the prices are very reasonable. We have used this place on several occasions while staying in the Premier Inn attached. On our latest visit we managed to eat early and grab the meal deal at £8.99 for two mains. A great deal, cheers.

Visited twice over two consecutive nights. Our two hosts could not be nicer or more professional in there approach to Customer Service and meeting customer expectations. Don't be put-off by what may appear to be slightly smaller portions than expected on a couple of dishes, great food doesn't have to be huge and it simply means you have room for any one of their Amazing desserts. Luxury and decadence in every mouthful. Dont forget to finish with a lovely coffee too. Highly recommended. Thank you.

Birthday celebration for two. Have been here before but yesterday was outstanding.A warm welcome a great table location and an attentive host. Our waiter was brilliant throughout our stay and although the place was busy he made feel at home and welcome.The food was superb. Our desserts deserve a special mention, we both had the Vegan Black Forest Sundae, an absolute winner!

Christmas dinner here was great value for money. We were all happy with the quality of each course, the Christmas pudding was a particular highlight. A great, family friendly environment with kind and speedy service. If you are looking for a hassle free Christmas dinner that doesn’t break the bank and caters well for kids of all ages, you should absolutely consider Smugglers Retreat.

We came here after being turned away from another restaurant. I'm actually glad about this now. The smugglers retreat were really welcoming. The food and drink were good, service was fast and the bill reasonable.

The food was shocking and the portions were like kids portions a happy meal from McDonald’s was bigger than the portion I was served. Speaking of which I went there straight after as I was still hungry as it was opposite from the restaurant. taking my business there from now on.

I sat down after a number of hours of driving and relaxed. Friendly attentive staff with good quality of food. In other words, warm and tasty. The atmosphere was friendly and jovial. I’ve visited a number of times since.

Went for an early dinner and there was plenty of space. Staff are great, friendly and polite. Food was quick and perfectly good for pub grub. If you need a quick and good value meal out, this is ideal.

Stopped for breakfast Sunday am. Very comprehensive menu of normal English breakfast fare and "continental". Currently freshly cooked so much better than a buffet. Nice and clean with very welcoming staff

The staff were very friendly and welcoming throughtout the evening. The food was fantastic. Also a massive thank you to Lauren for going above and beyond which made our experience even better. Social distancing rules were in place and adhered to by staff and other customers. 😊
