The Dalby Cafe in Thanet

What an absolute fantastic establishment, love the atmosphere, the energy and of course the food! The staff are undeniably the most friendly staff I’ve ever met. Service with a smile. Thanks to everyone that works at The Dalby Cafe for making my mornings great and starting my days off with a positive attitude 🙏

Best café in Thanet. Been coming for 10 years and it keeps getting better. Can now pay by card which is handy. Will always cook your breakfast exactly how you want it, very very well done bacon lovely. Now open as a burger restaurant, Thu, Fri and Saturday evenings

Probably the best in Margate. Very good quality food, cooked to perfection, clean, bright, friendly staff, and reasonably priced although paid parking is about all there is, good for when in the town centre though

really wished i went to my usual café , i thought i would give this café a go. Lets start with the coffee, cheap an nasty!!!! breakfast was nice but hardly value for money £8 for 2 sausages 2 bacon and 2 eggs half a plate of average beans toast was cold and soggy.

I used to love the Dalby cafe especially as the price was nice and visited often but as its been tarted up so has the price. 1 sausage, 2 spoons of bubble, 38 baked beans and 1 canned tomato =£5er. 😞Rebuttal...The food is always top quality and fresh no problem there. We both had the same thing and it cost £9.90. No drinks. I understand the price of some things has gone but this is a basic breakfast that you used to change £3.50ish for. Bubble and squeak is almost double the price now, which is only potatoes and vedg. What used to be an affordable breakfast is not longer affordable.Kind regards

Excellent breakfast for me and the kids, great options and top cup of tea and hot chocolate too. Lovely friendly place, great value.

Last morning in margate so wanted a nice breakfast to see us on our way. Looked at reviews of places close to us and this restaurant looked good. Service was effective and Friendly place was clean and it was busy which is always a good sign

Margate’s favourite traditional café. Welcoming and well-run, it has booth-style seating for a nice bit of privacy and, unusually for such cafés, freshly-squeezed orange juice and decent coffee! Adding to the usual favourites such as English Breakfasts there are dishes such as Chicken Salad (£6.90) and other classics.

Poor management and questionable hygiene left a lot to be desired.The chips that we ordered didn't turn up, and then we had to ask the staff twice to get the hash browns that are supposed to be included in the ”all-in” breakfast.Hygiene wasn’t great. The mugs looked as though they hadn't been washed, (see image) and we found a hair in one of the meals.The radio station wasn't very child-friendly, with several of the songs being quite explicit.Overall, not a pleasant experience. Saved from being one star because the food was alright (if you ignore the hair) and this establishment seems to have a lot of 4-5 star ratings from other reviewers (so it might just have been a one-off blunder for our group.)Thank you for reading my review.

This place is legendary!!Recommended to us by a local we got chatting to, and it certainly delivered on the promise of the best breakfast in town!It's not fancy, and all the better for it, they know what they do, and they do it to perfection; no nonsense fry-ups, English main meals, sandwiches, tea and coffee.If you're here for a day a week or a lifetime, put it on your must visit list :)
