One of my favourite places. If you like neat, new, minimalist then things NOT the place for you. If you want to step back in time, feel at home and surround yourself in history then this is the place. Most rooms have a sea view. Breakfast is great. Cream teas are a must. Have a drink in the bar, and find the pink pool table...

Beautiful place, afternoon tea is amazing. Went for a wake, staff were excellent and extremely respectful to everyone there. Only 1 criticism, beer was a little bit pricey but overall was amazing!!!!!Will be going back.

Absolutely lovely. Wow such a beautiful hotel, the dining room overlooks the sea. The grand piano playing really added to the warm comfortable ambiance. A fantastic birthday treat.

It was honestly the worst food I have ever eaten. I have a veggie curry and firstly it’s was served on a dinner place and it comprised of 6 soggy pieces of zucchini and a couple of bits of capsicum. It was tasteless. I would be embarrassed to serve that up to anyone if I was a chef or even a cook. My husband meal was awful as well. Over cooked calamari and very oily

Great place to stay located next to a quiet beach with sea water swimming pool. Nice walks along seafront to Margate old town and Botany Bay. Some rooms have brilliant sea views period features. Best cream teas with a pianist.

Had a grand one night stay here. It's a funny old hotel with bits and bobs all over the place. Our double room (£105) was very spacious, clean and the bed was comfy. The shower worked well, but the only issue we had with our stay was that the bathroom blind was missing a few slats, it was a clear window and we were only on the first floor. So I'm pretty sure people might have been able to see in!Breakfast buffet (included in the £105) was decent, with a selection of hot stuff, cereals, yoghurts etc.

There has been plenty written about The Walpole, but you need to visit to fully appreciate the hotel. We had fabulous cream tea on the last Sunday before it closes for the winter. We will be back next spring.
