It’s a shame it can’t be run better. I love being able to get gluten free and vegan options and it’s always been super tasty. But the queues are so long, often out of stock of many items and they don’t stick to the opening hours the advertise. I recently drove an hour to go here and they decided to close over an hour early, nothing on social media and no apologies.

Fish and chips were cooked perfectly. Service was friendly and we didn’t wait longer than 15 minutes for our food to arrive.I would say from the bad reviews further down the feed it has drastically improved.Only criticism is I like to be able to put my own salt and vinegar on to my taste.

I had fish and chips from here today 24.4.22The fish was way over cooked, the chips was brown cold and extremely greasy. I literally had to wipe the grease away from my mouth after every bite it was a disgusting experience. The food was brought out to our table with parts of our meal missingAnd as for the forks 😂 it was like using a pin to eat with. The catch at cobbles has put me off fish and chips for life! You need to employ people with experience not a bunch of kids!!What a waste of calories and money tut tut

Called in last week by lunch.........what a disaster!!Had the seafood platter and was disgusted at what I was given. The whole meal was swimming in grease ( a common fault apparently, reading the past comments) I don't know what potatoes they use for the chips but I suggest they pick a variety better suited as the chips given to me were dark brown but undercooked ( again a common observation, don't the owners read the reviews). The battered haddock was the smoked haddock you buy in Tesco and fried in batter , Yuk We weren't offered any plastic cutlery , when my son went to the counter to ask he was given a tiny wooden fork not much bigger than a cocktail stick. Not given any napkins or wet wipes to wipe the grease. The whole experience made me feel physically sick for the rest of the day. Never again !! Avoid at all costs

Fish cake was really nice and tasty. Fish was lovely. Pinapple fritter was great. But let down by cold chips after the long wait to be served and the long wait for food.Looks like they could have done with 1 more member of staff.

The vegan battered Beyond sausage was bussin, good crispy batter, with excellent chips. More expensive than your usual chippy, but worth the price. Made fresh to order, with a good amount of salt.

Pretty good overall. Enjoyed most of the seafood platter although some things were better cooked than others, really loved the tempura prawns and the homemade tartar sauce was delicious.Ordered a corned beef rissole but ended up with a Chorizo one that I didn't enjoy. Asked for salt and vinegar but couldn't taste any on the food.Looking forward to returning once everything has settled as they've not been open long and staff looked exhausted.Great location for taking your fish and chips down to eat at the beach in Ogmore.

Absolutely amazing place! Had such a good selection of gluten free and vegetarian options! The kids loved the playground and made the whole experience really enjoyable! Will definitely be our local chippie

Ever since opening, we have been to The Catch at Cobbles a lot as they are the only fish and chip shop with vegan options for miles around. It is usually quite busy and the staff were always friendly and as helpful as possible. The only downside about here is that occasionally the food can be quite greasy and over-battered. This has only happened on a few occasions in all of our visits. The last 2 times we've visited, they've not had any Beyond Meat sausages available. Fortunately we live fairly locally so it wasn't an issue but if you are travelling from further afield, I would recommend calling to double check before making the trip. The tempura veg is a personally favourite of ours as the kale always goes down a treat but the banana blossom and battered beyond sausage are also delicious. The chips are always cooked well too.Overall, the food is great here and being able to take it down to Ogmore beach to enjoy the view. I recommend taking a trip down to the beach and grabbing some food on your way there.

Great options for veggies including battered beyond sausage and battered banana blossom. It's always busy and they should have a wonderful summer with the Ogmore traffic. Whilst the quality of the ingredients is undeniable, the chips have been a bit hit and miss. If you are travelling for a specific item worth ringing ahead and preordering.
