Fat Boys Fish & Chips in The Vale of Glamorgan

I have been getting my take aways from Fat Boys for a long time now and had an amazing dinner as always.Ordered directly by phone and got my delivery really quick and still HOT. The staff are friendly as always.The chicken curry on my chips was something new I tried. It was very authentic and would definitely recommend. The fish is always fresh and the chips are the best in Barry.Cannot wait for my next order!

Heard a lot of mix reviews on this place ,so I thought I try it out.I order XL burger , special large fish ,milkshake ,kids 2 fish bites meal and large chips for the family.Delivered in 25 minsFood was HOT and amazing the whole family enjoyed it so not sure who these Gordon Ramsey wannabes making negative comment about this place ! Will be my preferred take away now

I ordered at 8.25pm on a Sunday evening. Around 9.30pm I started chasing my order and was told by a lady that my order had just left. 10.10pm I called again to be told by a man that my order left 10 minutes ago. Both were lying and both didn’t have the decency to admit that they had clearly not done my order. I would have appreciated the honesty and would have gone elsewhere but instead waited a few hours for an order that was never going to arrive. There was no apology or empathy just lies, poor customer service. I will never order from them again and will definitely advise others to stay well clear.If anybody was to check opening hours for the establishment it clearly states they close at 9.30pm so why I was being told fibs at 10.10pm is beyond me. Were they trying to make out that they were operating outside of opening hours?How you can continue to operate in such a poor manor bewilders me, customer service means nothing to the staff. Since this inadequate service I have taken the liberty of reading reviews for Fat Boys Barry and have found quite a few customers were treated the same as myself. What I also found was a lot of positive reviews from the same person in a small space of time, are these genuine reviews or are they there to push non positive reviews further down the line? Overall an appalling service, given recent circumstances with covid, you’d think small takeaway outlets would be making more of an effort to grow their customer base and thrive. Boyfriend is vegetarian so he ordered a veggie burger and chips then I realized the chips were cooked in lard which he cannot have and they didn't mention it on the phone . It left a thick layer of lard in my mouth and my boyfriend was sick.Lard as you know is made out of animal fat .the chips were not just cooked in lard they were caked right through . I never leave bad reviews ever but I am concerned vegetarians are having hidden animal fat . I am not impressed so just a warning to vegitarians not to order from there as lard is not vegetarian

Honestly what can I say , this place has the amazing fish and chips and burgers in Barry.Have ordered here many times with no issue. Thank you fat boys will be ordering again :)

I am in utter shock at this place !!First time ordering and my food had a hair in and my Coke was months out of date. I sent the full order back uneaten of course and they said I would have a refund within 5-7 days.I have now called to chase what is happening as I have not received an email as I requested and they advised no one has blonde hair who works there so I will not be getting a refund even though I returned my entire order.The hair was more dark than blonde !!I rang within 5 minutes of my order being delivered as I saw the hair almost straight away and they knew this.Never come across a takeaway business like this it’s appalling, I have taken this up with the food standards agency as I have all the pictures and evidence needed etc.I would NEVER use this takeaway again and I wish I could give them 0 stars as they do not deserve any.

Chicken curry and chips? Where's the curry sauce? Called up and told this is how it's supposed to be. We have been customers of Fatboy's for a long time. Not anymore.

Placed an order to collect and was told 10/15 minutes I turn up in 15 minutes and it was empty and they hadn’t even started my order yet he said be 5 minutes just waiting for the chicken. Then someone else come in and they gave them all the chips while I was still waiting so I had to then wait an extra 10 minutes on top of the ten I had just waited if not more 20 to 25 minutes on top of the 15 I was already told for and it was completely dead. What was the point of taking my order on the phone? Then get home and the chips are the smallest large chips have ever seen in my life!
