Holm House in The Vale of Glamorgan

Absolutely brilliant. The staff could not do more to make your stay more comfortable . I was booked into one of the suites which is amazing value for money. The view from the room was so calming, the bath tub spectacular and the space really wonderful. Such a treat. This is a hotel with members of staff who do everything with pride and kindness. If I come back to this part of the world for another wedding, I am definitely staying here again.

Very happy, the restaurant staff were wonderful very attentive, helpful really couldn't have been more helpful, nothing was to much trouble. Quality and quantity of the food was excellent. Happy to recommend and will certainly call again.

What a wonderful venue for our son & daughter in law's wedding day! From start to finish the staff were outstanding. The rooms are beautiful, food is amazing, gardens were perfect for relaxing & photos. We cannot thank the staff enough. Highly recommend & look forward to visiting when we return to Penarth.

Fantastic venue lovely staff who are so attentive. Food was excellent as well. One star off because we waited over an hour for our starter; wasn't a big issue for us really as we were a large party and did plenty of talking! When the starters came they were well worth waiting for though. Well done all round - will definitely be back!

We only stayed one night. Had dinner, great service, good food. Breakfast was excellent, food was cooked to order. Room was very comfortable, with a superb terrace patio attached. Great location, friendly staff, would definitely stay again.

We went for afternoon tea in a small group of 4 (we booked 5 but last minute had someone pull out), we then had quite a stroppy waitress serve us, almost acted as if it was an inconvenience for us to be there, she then was like “ yeah so next time let us know you’re not eating because we bake the EXACT amount” and she was giving us the side eye, just not a good attitude at all. So she ruined the experience quite alot, then she had the cheek to put on the tip at the end before even asking and to be honest I wouldn’t of tipped.

We have stayed here on several occasions and also had our wedding reception at Holm House.The hotel staff are always very welcoming. The spa area, whilst small, is relaxing and always well-stocked with juices and teas. On a sunny day the terrace attached to the spa is just beautiful! Quality of restaurant food is excellent. Best hotel breakfast I've had. If we're looking for a night away in the area as a bit of a treat, Holm House always wins!

Picturesque surroundings, the hotel itself is lovely and the service was good. However, we paid £43 for Festive Afternoon Tea for two people and it came on one stand, consisting of 8 finger sandwiches, 8 party size cakes (4 of which were mini mince pies) and 2 scones. I've been to other hotels for Afternoon tea and each paying person receives their own stand. I feel it was over priced for two people sharing.

Christmas lunch was superb. Delicious food great service. Lovely comfortable seating with a real fire. Nothing too much trouble for the staff. Will definitely be going back.

Room very tired, and requiring essential maintenance. Bathroom had a mouldy shower head and damp walls. Customer service shocking - we were shown to someone else’s room!Emailed management with our concerns as really disappointed with our stay but have never heard back.I’ve stayed in a Premier Inn with significantly better customer service!
