Irene's supper Bar in The Vale of Glamorgan

Been useing this place for years but after reading some of the other review many people start off with the same sentence then follow with a negative review so in all the years of fantastic service to the community and people of Barry you haven't left a positive feedback but are happy to slate a business it's sad but I can assure everyone the food is still on point and great value for money you won't be disappointed

Had lovely fish and chips there just last night and 2 jumbo Sausages for the dog. The fish was gorgeous batter was nice a crispy, great service will be visiting again definitely

Food was disgusting and the member of staff e.g the girls were so rude... I would rather go down the road to finnegans instead at least you don't get burnt and rude staff in finnegans but here at Irene's you get rude after rude... food burnt...

DISGUSTING! Cold dry manky chips, a rank jumbo sausage not fit for consumption, Went in the bin! Don't waste your money here!! Seriously vile.

Complete load of rubbish servedVisited here last night after a busy stressful week hopping for a quick and easy meal, as stated it was a load of rubbish served. My husband wanted chicken curry off the bone more like chicken skin and chips, staff was also disgustingly rude and did not want to help as they could see I was stressed with a big order for my family. We then proceeded to ring up and tell them about the problems as the chicken wasn’t the only one as our pie wasn’t cooked and only had a spoonful of chips not enough to go between us all as she knew, they said to come down the next day to resolve this problem and, wasted my time again as they just turned us away will never receive food from here again food and service was disgusting with a side rude members off staff.

Used to be really good. Now the chips are always manky and there's hardly any. I don't eat a lot and there's not even enough chips for me. The prices seem to go higher and the food is less quality and amount. Its our local and been using for awhile however we will be looking elsewhere for a chippy now.

This was our fish tonight. over cooked black and cold. Chips with painfull to crunch so over cooked and again cold. Last time for me.

Update: Haddock here is the best. You'll wait 10-15 mins and 20 on a busy day but it's the tastiest and biggest in any chipshop in Barry.Fantastic portions. The food is lovely and not greasy like some chip shops. The sausage and batter was a little dry for being unsold for a while and the fish cake wasn't that fresh but all in all it was a good catch.
