Their aubergine dishes are excellent, the rice is fresh and light, the service is kind and prices are really competitive. Our favourite Chinese in Penarth, highly recommend!

Very disappointed with my order, don’t usually have a problem with them but they got 2 meals wrong from my order. Not happy

I have used the Magic Wok for many years for both home delivery of Chinese food & collection of fish & chips. For the last couple of years they seem to be channeling most of their effort to takeaway Chinese food to the detriment of the fish and chips. They used to have one of the best & cheapest fish in Penarth but now they frequently run out of fish quite early in the day & when they do have it it is very poorly cooked, with thick, overcooked, greasy batter. Today my partner phoned to order fish & chips & picked it up on her way home. The fish was without doubt the worst I have ever had in my entire life from anywhere in the country. The batter was thick, rock hard & completely inedible. I managed to hack & saw the majority of it off with a bread knife only to reveal a tiny amount of shrivelled, yellowing, completely dry fish. Whoever cooked & wrapped this piece of fish shouldn’t be working in the food industry if it wasn’t clear to them that the dark brown, approaching black in places, appearance of the batter meant that it was fit for anywhere other than the bin. I should have taken it back & demanded a refund but instead I’ll just write this review & NEVER buy from them again!!!

Great food tonight. First time we have ordered and will definitely do so again. Delivered before the estimated time, so can’t fault it.

Good quality local Chinese Takeaway that I've been going to in preference for years.Prices are reasonable, quality good & very quick if you go collect.Has a top 5 food hygiene rating as of Oct 2018 according to Food Hygiene Rating website

Had a quarter of duck with pancakes. Hoisin sauce wasn't enough to do 2 pancakes let alone 6. Phoned to ask why there was so little and they said that's how much they give out. I wasn't impressed with the attitude either. Would not recommend

Good quality Chinese food and also offer a typical 'chip shop' menu too so ideal if your party can't decide on what type of takeaway to order.Direct online ordering and payment is available for collection and delivery orders so this is a useful feature.Staff are always friendly too.

Just realised that it has a hygiene rating of 2 which is appalling..... I called up to check the time of my delivery as I forgot and the reply was a rude,"I told you it would be..." That's extremely disgusting customer service. I won't be ordering from here again, not only because the customer service is disgusting but so is the hygiene rating! Not only that, but the top on my curry sauce was completely cracked and leaked all over my carpet. Worst experience I've had. This place has really gone down hill. Really disappointed.
