My wife and I head to M&S most weeks to do a food shop, and more often than not head to the cafe for something to eat or drink while we are there (food is generally pretty good and good quality).Over the past year we have noticed the cleanliness of the cafe has sadly deteriorated, given covid had a huge impact of how often and more thoroughly things were cleaned i was saddened yesterday to see how dirty it has become. More so I was shocked to see how much food was on the floor and just ignored. Before I sat at a table it was wiped down with a dirty dry blue cloth by a member of staff. The picture provided was me using a tissue and some sanitiser to wipe the table down myself, after it had been so called cleaned. I think you will agree the team need some training.I witnessed a number of staff chatting and having a laugh in the cleaning area (Corner) of which I really think should be boxed in so that customers can’t see the area. Just my opinion but it looks so unprofessional, and you see things you shouldn’t see, like people touching dirty plates and then heading to get fresh food to deliver to customers, surely that’s against food hygiene standards? In the time I was in the cafe all the tables where cleaned by the same dirty cloth. All the food waste left on the tables (crumbs etc) is simply brushed to the floor, really? What’s wrong with a dust pan and brush to clean the floor? There are plenty of hand held easy to use light weight hoovers these days that would keep things a lot cleaner. The managers of this cafe should be very ashamed it’s run like this, I find it embarrassing that the store manager allows this given M&S prides itself as being all about quality and service. Having said that more often than not most of your managers are stood around the store chatting in groups of 3-4, it’s not uncommon and seen most weeks. It’s not even chat about work, customers are not deaf and can hear, again quite embarrassing really. If they spent half as much time cleaning the cafe as they did chatting it would be spotless. M&S really does sell the best food, but sadly it gets let down by your cafe’s standard.

Recently refurbished - food hall is modern and an improvement. One issue, the music is wholly unsuitable for M&S. Very loud, fast, electronic music which is not pleasant.

Today I bought a lovely duvet cover, some gorgeous children’s clothes and some sweeties. We had a nice coffee and some cake. The toilets, however, were disgusting - the stench!! What is going on with the loos? The downstairs ones were closed (they’ve been messing about with these for some time). The upstairs ones were dreadful - they smelt like they’d never been cleaned and actually there was dirt and dust all over the loos. Don’t they get cleaned? Where’s the bleach? I would expect better from M and S.

Having come to M&S for many years as I’ve always found the staff and service is second to none. However I’m in a wheelchair so I’m limited what I can do. However we were looking for matching towels and none of your staff seem interested . On top of that we were limited to what colours we could have, which was not many. I struggled to go out being in a chair and am disappointed in the service and the lack of choice.

Once upon a time I once used to buy all my (men's) clothes in M&SOn my last visiit I couldn't find anything that suited me, my age, my taste or that fitted - I'm bigger now.I couldn't find the tills and the conveyor on the food till where I paid for a jacket was dirty. When I tried to return the jacket to the M&S Outlet in the Pines Bridgend they wouldn't take it despite being told at Culver House Cross that they would.

Yesterday, 4/27/22 I bought two loaves of bread, the date on the package is 4/29/22. At home, it turned out that both breads are stale, lichen non-edible. probably old bread was repacked in a new bag. And this lack of hygiene, everything with bare feet.Kupiłem dwa bochenki chleba, obydwa czerstwe i niezjadliwe. A data długa na opakowaniu. Szkoda.

After the current shambolic attempt to revamp the food hall (three weeks and still counting) I can only conclude that complete incompetence is the required skill to work for this company. The staff seem to have lost the will to live and resorted to the liberal use of tensa barriers in a vain attempt to marshal their frustrated would be customers, many of whom abandoned hope when confronted with the shambles greeting them when venturing into this area. Having passed through immigration controls in many third world countries the scene was reminiscent of that experience. The staff have been sadly let down by whatever management - and I sure the term loosely - is now in place and who have presided over this disaster. I can't help feeling that they have attempted to put all their eggs in the "new technology" basket without appreciating the need for staff to be available to guide and assist. I'm sure the "Covid" excuse will be rapidly wheeled out in an attempt to explain away this fiasco.

Not a good experience with long queue going into the food hall in this store since before Christmas last year. They now have some food items displayed outside the food hall near to clothing section. But quite messy and confusing with no notices as to where to queue or pay for food and non food items. Staff not able to explain too.
